    Stop concentrating on math and science

    Math and science are another language, and most people do not understand it. I'm in a room with two other people watching tv, a question from a game show on tv is about coulombs, seconds, and wire. The geek in the room knows the language, the straights not so much.

    In the US we just have to pay the lawyers who later become politicians. Legal fees, bribes, just a matter of which thieves get the money for no real effort.

    Nice example. If the salesman wasn't wearing a suit you'd probably trust him less. The suit is part of the package, like grammar is part of the message.

    I've met one salesman in 30 years who actually sounded like he knew his tech product cold and inside out. I don't remember what he was wearing, maybe a pullover sweater.

    My last child just left the public school system as class valedictorian and it was tale after tale of rules holding them back. The more layers of administration within and above the worse it gets. They protect their own jobs at every turn and not much else, and for the record I rarely called them on it. You can't argue with someone who is entrapped by their perceived expertise.

    Encourage your children to ask questions, try to observe without interfering, and never push them but suggest they stretch in a new direction from time to time.

    If the school board called we would gladly provide suggestions for improvment, I'm not holding my breath.

    Blanket DNT could seriously destroy businesses at-scale. I'm really worried about this move.

    Don't worry the kind of people advertising works on will turn DNT off. Gotta have the newest tonedeafautotunedpopstar screensaver with soft drink points. Advertisers think EVERYONE wants ads, they're so cute and cuddly. I would like to be compassionate here, but could we just kill them all?

    Pirating is just the sheep fighting back, a certain amount is unavoidable. In an ideal supplier economy all consumers would be required to hand over their wallets and the producers would decide how much they could (not should) pay. Hollywood producers are just a bunch of greedy whiners that can't understand the world is not all theirs. I've bought enough product over the years sometimes they can just suck it up.

    I used to use about 20 to 30 GB a month with AT&T not needing to waste bandwidth. I think I'll be getting a lot closer to the cap in the future.

    I find AT&T can't seem to deliver even a consistent 1.5mpps (throttling per sites), and canceled the news servers (for the children). The service always was shitty at best and now its capped?

    Some lawyer in my state sued them once for false claims about service and won, I need to find his phone number.

    How many billions can one person hoard? Thats enough money to wipe their ass with a million or so dollars a day for life. Poor people are a waste of profit, so it is encouraged to push it all into big bank accounts to keep it safe from the poor. Thank the gods the rich keep making money, to keep it away from people like me, who take food stamps, and scroung for meds.

    After the first billion the rich should pay taxes at 100% just to get bragging rights! Its just about ego masturbation after the first Billion anyway. How about they pay their share and quit milking us for profit, and let us keep our own money in the first place. If your company has more than a billion dollars in profits, you need to double your workers pay (rinse and repeat).

    When you have diabetes you study it like the predator that it is.

    However if your advice/treatment is not validated by a double blind independently funded study you shouldn't bill for it. That goes for the tons of late nite TV ads for "cures this" for three easy payments(just pay shipping). The FDA should shut all these clowns up if they charge any fees. But they usually don't because the advertisers need the money.

    I actually had this dream recently, it looked like /. all green horizontal bars and buttons. The nightmare was no text content, just "submit your video" buttons. I can't recall every feeling quite so used, true story.
