Here is a novel concept, why doesn't someone build a laptop (or netbook) that is convertible to a tablet. Now configure it to make use of virtualization and when you turn the thing on it boots the primary Operating System (for the laptop) like Windows 7 Starter and simultaneously boots a secondary operating system (for the tablet) like Android 2.3 or 3.0. Now when ever you swivel the screen and lay it down it doesn't have to switch modes it just switches virtual machines and enables the Android OS on the screen. When you lift the screen back up it reverts to the other VM and re-enables Windows or which ever OS you have on there. Oh and if you implement this as a HARDWARE SWITCH it should be virtually flawless, result in no loss of data/productivity when switching. Its not even that hard to do. You just have the hard drive partitioned with a hidden partition that runs Android. Then utilize virtualization in the bios to boot the second OS in the background.

Okay lets look at this scientifically....If a meteor slams into a frigid desert and causes massive amounts of virtually pure ice to explode out onto the surface what exactly does that mean? Before you answer consider that at other sites around Mars they imaged impacts and found that those craters resulted in much dirtier ice being expelled as they would expect if it was ice crystals forming around grains of dirt. However in the image above it was 99% pure water/ice that was expelled.... To me that means there is a large body of frozen water that has been frozen so long that it has been completely buried by one of many Marian Dust Storms. Furthermore, if there is a large body of water/ice under the dirt a few meters it would extremely old and could possibly still contain life of some form.

That is an interesting paradox, but it is flat out wrong. If you take two remote control cars (one capable of 40 mph and one capable of 20 mph) and you have the 40 mph car take off, then half a minute later the 20 mph car and they are both going the same direction for 1 mile. Which one will get there first? Now do the same with a couple of jet airplanes both flying the same direction leaving 30 minutes apart with the first one flying at Mach 5 and the second at Mach 2.5. Again the faster one will get there first. Frame of reference aside this is true. Now with that said if you took two space ships, one traveling at .5c and one traveling at .25c and had them leave a year apart (with the faster one first), both traveling in the same direction. It would appear to us (hear on Earth) through Visual Observations that the slower one gets to the destination at the same time (or close to it) as the faster one. That is an optical illusion caused by speed. However, they would not arrive at the same time or even any where close to the same time. They would arrive relative to the distance/speed they where traveling just like the remote control cars or the jet planes. However, relative the person(s) onboard the space crafts the persons on the slower (.25c) craft would age at almost three times the speed of those on the .5c craft.

I have been using Windows 7 Beta 1 (Build 7000) for 3 days and am utterly surprised. Here is a quick overview of the experience to date. On Wednesday I finished downloading the ISO and burned it to disc using Nero 9. Once burnt I removed the hard drive from my Toshiba Satellite A215-S5818 laptop and replaced it with a blank 120 GB SATA 4300 RPM drive with only 4MB Cache. I had previously upgraded my ram from 2 GB DDR2 to 4 GB DDR2 while using Vista and it had no discernible effect on performance. After installing the 120 GB hard drive I inserted the Windows 7 Beta 1 DVD and booted to it. The entire install (including initial setup and installing my Cellphone as a USB modem, setting up my internet connection and downloading newer Video Card Driver) took less than 30 minutes. I was blown away, especially considering the Internet Setup was 100% completely and totally different than under Vista, XP, 200, 98, etc. Then I went to restore my 40+GB of data from my external 1TB Buffalo DriveStation which was ridiculously slow (almost unuseable) in Vista. It took less than 20 minutes to restore all my data to the correct locations (even though I had to find some of them because they where in different places). After my data was restored I went to re-installing all my software (about 50 programs and games) which was all backed up to and restored from that same 1TB external drive. I was able to reinstall every single program in about 2 hours without a single reboot (until they where all installed). Office 2007 Professional installed in less than 5 minutes. Nero 9 took the longest at about 8 minutes. Firefox 3 less than 15 seconds. Google Chrome less than 10 seconds. Acrobat Reader 9 about 4 minutes. Adobe Photoshop CS3 about 7 minutes. All 10 of my games in less than 10 minutes. Once everything was reinstalled I started playing around with the OS. First thing I always try is to open several hundred Windows Explorer windows and see how many it takes to crash the system. Much to my surprise Windows 7 said "hell no you only need one and that is all we are giving you". Then I said well I will open a couple hundred pictures, again Windows 7 said "hell no your note" and kindly opened them all in 1 Preview Window. Then I said well let me open about 50 Word and Excel Documents at the same time and low and behold they all opened in less than 10 seconds (after I finished the First Run wizard) and didn't slow down the system AT ALL. SO while they where open I decided to open QuickMediaConvertor and convert a divx avi to vob. Once that was started I opened several different games (including Hardwood Solitaire IV, 3d Texas Holdem Poker, Freeciv and Mahjong Titans all at Maximum Graphics and Detail levels. Still my system hadn't blinked so I opened Google Picasa and selected a 1000+ pictures and applied the "I'm Feeling Lucky" filter. It was done in about 2 minutes. While I was waiting I went and played a game of Hardwood Solitaire IV with no noticeable slow down. Now thoroughly impressed I decided to crash it one way or another and opened every single thing I could find to open (about 100 programs) all running at the same time. Now the system finally slowed down as my processor (an AMD Turion X64 running at 2 Ghz with 2 cores) was almost maxed. Suprisingly my memory (3.5 GB usuable by Windows) was only using about 2.75 GB. System was still easily usable and probably faster still than a normal XP/Vista installation with normal programs running. Now that I have figured out I just can't make it crash I close all those programs. I was fully expecting CPU/Memory to stay up much higher than when I first booted. Much to my chagrin everything returned to roughly the same levels as a fresh boot. Then I started poking around and discovered some remarkable changes in Windows 7 that frankly I hadn't expected. Almost every single process is Sandboxed (Virtualized) by default. My older programs that are not Windows 7 compatible (every one I installed) was Automatically checked and if need be was run in Compatibility mode AUTOMATICALLY. In fact out of the 100

However, outside California there is still a large number of drivers who flash and attempt to be courteous to other drivers (no matter what they are driving). However, at some point since the mid 70's until now drivers have grown retarded and most drivers take it as an insult that you flash them, especially four wheelers. Hell most four wheelers now a days think a turn signal means speed the fuck up, or they just totally ignore it and stay right beside you and absolutely refuse to let you over, even if you slow down to get behind them....in fact that usually pisses them off and makes them slow down.

Okay it appears that under the "New Hours of Service" regulations they did away with the aforementioned rule, that or they just don't want it advertised anymore because I can no longer find it on the FMCSA's website. As far as "it's illegal in the USA to drive at a safe speed" yes that is exactly what I am telling you. While I personally have never gotten such a ticket I have family who drives that have and have talked to numerous other drivers who have also gotten a "speeding ticket" for "impeding the flow of traffic". In the case of my family member who got it it was my now deceased brother-in-law. He was in California doing the truck speed limit of 55mph when a police officer sitting on a ramp saw a car go down the ramp and have to slam on their breaks to keep from hitting him as they merged on the interstate. While he was doing the speed limit he was pulled over and cited with "impeding the flow of traffic" because the car speed limit was 65 and the car had to slow down because he was only doing 55 (which is the statewide truck speed limit). I have heard cases of this happening all over the USA for driving at the speed limit as well as driving at a "safe speed" which was lower than the posted speed limit. I myself got pulled over one time going through a heavily traffic light area for driving 15 under the posted speed limit. The cop wanted to know why I was driving so slow I told him if I drove faster I would have no choice but to run red lights as I wouldn't be able to stop because they are on too short of a yellow cycle. He told me "speed up or I will cite you for impeding traffic". This was around 3 AM and he and I where the only two vehicles on the damn road.

  25. Re:Four Wheelers on British Village Requests Removal From GPS Maps · · Score: 1

That is true for four wheelers in most parts of the USA it is taught that way. It is also true according to the "Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations" that we (semi's) can run red lights under certain circumstances. a.) We do not have the ability to stop, b.) we are carrying a high value load through an extremely high crime area or c.) we are in a low traffic area (usually late at night). However, we are required to blow our air horn continuously from before we get to the intersection until we are completely clear of the intersection. As a general rule we only utilize this rule for b.) and even then not all the time. An example is going into the Bronx, NY at night to deliver to the Meat Market or Produce Market we do not stop from the time we leave the highway until we have pulled through the security checkpoint at the market. Furthermore, if we are in an area that has a significant amount of traffic lights (every block or two) it is near impossible for us to get moving and then abruptly stop within the span of a few blocks. We would have to drive 10 mph all the way through town in order to achieve such a feat and to be absolutely certain we could stop at every light. Not only would that cost us significant lost revenue, especially for local (city drivers) but it would also result in daily tickets for "impeding the flow of traffic". The truth of the matter is it doesn't matter what we do or don't do in a big truck the pedestrians, four wheelers and laws are all against us. Regardless who causes an accident if there is a big truck involved he is at fault....period....we are burdened with proving it wasn't our fault which goes against our entire legal system. Furthermore, we are required by law to stop and render aid if there is an accident or we can be charged with a felony; however if we stop to render that aid we are liable for a whole slew of things. For example: our truck is blocking the flow of traffic, our presence causes another four wheeler who wasn't pay attention to wreck, etc.....ALL OUR FAULT. Driving a truck is one of the most responsible careers in the world and carries with it the most liability, even above being a doctor. We have to know everything, see everything, be responsible for everyone and take the blame for everything that happens. And you know why? Because fucking four wheelers who didn't know what they where doing or didn't want to take the blame for there mistakes blamed us when it wasn't our fault. Yes sometimes we fuck up too, but more times than not it isn't our fault.
