My main complaint is that it isn't supported by Linux or anything outside the Mac/Windows world.
ADE runs fine in Wine, and even though it's definitely not an ideal solution, it is a solution. At least, I'm assuming that you're referring to ADE when you say "it", as the Nook is pretty much OS-neutral, acting as a mass-storage device. Calibre has been my Nook's best friend since I got it.
Had he said, "Sorry, I don't have a cell phone," that would have been one thing. What I took issue with was: "They're a huge fucking ripoff and until they get to the point where it's a reasonable price with vendors that aren't asshole oligopolies I will not get one." (Yes yes, you have your reasons, we get it.)
And his later response: "I just looked up a plan, and they start at $50 a month for 100 minutes and 500MB of data plus the monthly connection fees, stealing from you fees (they call these "9-1-1 fees"), etc." (So he didn't look very hard, and God forbid he'd ever need to call 911.)
But you're right, not having a phone is relevant. It's just not worthy of broadcast with that level of misinformed and misdirected vitriol.
Hey, it's the new White Person catchphrase! It used to be "I do not OWN a television," but "that shit's played, yo." It's gotten to the point where no one cares about the endless ranting about how bad TV is and how that particular person is soooo much better for not having one. Now these self-important bastards can do the same thing and keep their smug superior attitude, but still watch Hawaii Five-O!
And yes, I get the hypocrisy of my sig in conjunction with this post, but is it really necessary to inform everyone in earshot (or everyone reading the comments, in this case) of your preference, despite there being virtually no chance of anyone actually caring?
Going a step further, using Chromeless is going to make more people look at XULRunner, the program which fires both Firefox as well as Thunderbird.
Great! Because the only thing better than software that doesn't integrate well with one platform is software that doesn't integrate well with *any* platform!
While you sometimes have valid points, your style is quite... unique, and that's made it prone to mockery, unfortunately. An account wouldn't be the worst idea, even if you don't care about mod points or any of the rest of it. After all, signing your AC posts kind of defeats the point of posting as AC.
Coca-Cola tastes identical to Pepsi or any other cola
Then your taste buds are pretty messed up, there's a substantial difference between Coke, Pepsi, RC, and other off-brands, and that's not even mentioning the debacle that was New Coke.
I expect people to whore the n900 on iPhone articles. I even accept that people will whore the n900 on Android articles. This isn't even about mobile phones. This is an entirely different class of device. Post that again when the n900 has a decent e-ink screen.
Yeah, Kubrick would definitely be interesting, considering he's been dead for over a decade. I can see the headlines now: First Film Directed By Zombie Nominated for Oscar!
That sentence still gives me chills every time I read it, even now, 20 years after the first time I picked up The Gunslinger... If anyone's on the fence: If you've read his other work, you'll probably get a glimpse into it from Mid-World -- or a glimpse into Mid-World from it. It's not Tolkien, but it's very good. Unlike most people, I *loved* the ending, but YMMV.
Why the hell would I hire a DVD? Their references are almost always terrible, have no work experience prior to 1996, and they don't do any work -- they just sit around looking all shiny.
DockbarX isn't a perfect drop-in replacement, but it's actually pretty decent, even adding live previews via Compiz. Different themes are available, of course, but isn't that pretty much always the case where desktop Linux is concerned? The tray/notification area and clock are obviously quite different still, but one step at a time.
I saw nip at 1:15.
Apparently so did someone else, the video was taken down.
While I wholeheartedly agree that this is incredibly stupid, I have to wonder where all the ranting about this was a year ago when it was posted.
(This is how old these mockups are.)

I do not OWN a cell phone.

*waves goodbye to his karma*
I'm going to miss you!

You, like, didn't watch the video, so *whoosh*.

The 5200 joystick wouldn't have been so bad if it would have just auto-centered! No, wait, it still would have been terrible...
You are so full of Dr. Ann de Wees Allen...
Sir, I'm just hoping lightning strikes you down because you seem to be unable to form a coherent sentence.
Sorry, Windows Phone 7, I forgot the branding change...
'It's a great way for teams that have worked overtime to create a kick-ass product blow off steam and have a little fun.'
So why does the WinMo7 team get to do this?
Yes, because "America, The Beautiful" is sung at OH SO MANY Australian funerals.
Now, I like Depp, but from that description, he would make a *great* Sheemie!

Either that or that was someone with said access trying to make it look like user error.

...The banana stand?
Then why wasn't the patch submitted to mainline six years ago? Or if it was, why did it take so long to get accepted?
Yeah, but there will be a million regular HDDs for sale that are mislabeled as ADHDs...
