What would be the devices "primary" use?
I find it hard to believe you could just create a device solely for this purpose and not run into some kind of legal trouble whether you're including the key or not. If the device has no other "primary" function, technically you're facilitating whatever crime is being committed.
Seriously, did anyone really think such a thing would make it through ?
It's the "pirate" party for crying out loud, in what universe is the word "pirate" not considered a villainous term ?
Romanticized, yes. Get's the girl at the end of a single Disney movie, no.
I'm actually on an AMD Athlon 3000+ system with 2G of RAM and Ubuntu as I post this. I have a second drive in this system with Windows Vista on it and that runs Eve Online, Heroes 5, and a handfull of other games just fine.
I've got a couple of systems even older than this which run Ubuntu server and automate daily website maintenance tasks for me.
I didn't say he's the only person buying the games, I said he's in the minority when you step back and look at the big picture. The person I replied to seems to believe that publishers don't have reasons for making the decisions about DRM that they do. If they were making more or at least the same amount of money with DRM-less games they would continue to produce them. However, they're obviously not.
You dislike my post because you're an idiot, not due to any fault of mine.
No, you don't get it. You're obviously a minority in the bigger picture.
You have to consider the fact that publishers have a lot of experience with producing games, whereas the only experience you have is playing them. If publishers were experiencing the same behavior from everyone as they are from you then they'd continue to keep this DRM model alive. However, they're obviously not because they're shutting it down.
How do you know your friends aren't all laughing behind your back because you're the only sucker actually buying the game ?
I hope whoever came up with this idea has their cars GPS tell them a dead end street in the middle of the ghetto is the way back on to the highway some day.
Imagine for a second that you're a woman getting drilled away by a perfect mate, how much of that guy are you going to see? Pretty much just his torso, head, and arms, right? That would explain why the legs are unimportant in teh decision making process.
Or a support forum with "hp employees" who parade around with the following disclaimer in all of their replies so they can feel official without hp taking any responsibility for the actions of their employees.
Though I am an hp employee, I am not an expert on all hp products. When I offer advice I am not speaking for hp.
I was just thinking the other day about how antivirus software has been the number one download at Download.com for years. I would think that if the woftware works, the download counts would go down.
Think about the bear analogy again. If you feed the guy next to you to the bear, now the bear is satiated. That's great for a while, and you're safe. But when the bear is hungry again, guess who he's going after? You're much better off working together to kill or scare off the bear in that analogy.
Unless you're smart, like Betty White in Lake Placid.
I think all of these stories of military oopsies sound a lot like the story of the woman who "accidentally" dropped her bag and waits for some guy to pick it up. Except, in this case the guy gets tagged like an animal and watched like a hawk for the next 30 years.
Yeah, but you can still shoot the horse.

Well hell, if it's "virtual waste" then it doesn't really exist. Problem virtually solved !
Where the hell are they finding time between all of that texting to text even more ?

An imax remake of The Abyss might be pretty cool.
Ill prepared? They've been fucking around with it for almost 10 years.
I hope whoever came up with this idea has their cars GPS tell them a dead end street in the middle of the ghetto is the way back on to the highway some day.
Just pay the fuckers before they realize it's coming out of their taxes anyways.
Well yeah, but I'm talking about when the lights are on.
Bett White said it in less words. "Sick 'em crocko !"

Never taunt a squirrel with bear nuts.

At this rate we're going to evolve dicks that suck themselves before we get flying cars.
This comment deserves a Yosemite Sam standing just off the edge of the cliff about to fall into the gourge laugh.
Let's be honest, it's all Moses' fault.
Not knowing what 4chan is and fucking up an acronym. You get bonus noob points for that post.

I'll just leave this here for Brazil, http://www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org/
