There's probably not much difference between these and normal ATM machines. I bet these machines aren't going to have much if any more valuables inside them than existing ATM machines in each area.

I'm guessing golds not as easy to get rid of as it seems. Chances are these guys stockpiled tons of gold while the price was closer to $400 an ounce than $1300 an ounce and now they're having a tough time getting rid of it all, so they're trying to dime-bag it out to the public.

Can't we do both? With all the strippers working their way through university, can't we find an astrophysics grad student who moonlights as a stripper? She would be a good metaphorical representation of humanity - educating ourselves in the right direction, but still immaturely obcessed with sex, and completely unphased by the hypocrisy of our situation

I thought strippers who are smart enough to put themselves through school, put themselves through something practical, like Business school.

If extraterrestrial life forms (biological or mechanical) would decide to come here I'm pretty sure they'd have the means to scan the planet and meet up with whoever they damn well please.

Assuming the aliens came here looking for something specific you're probably right. I like to think anything capable of making it here would be doing so on an exploratory capacity though, meaning they're going to take what they can get when they can get it.

  10. Re:Two Wrongs. . . on UK Pursues Tax Evaders Using Stolen Bank Details · · Score: 2, Interesting

The list in this case might be probable cause to court order a recent list from the bank itself to verify the questionable lists authenticity. Assuming the person in question was in a position to obtain such a list, the only question here is whether the list is authentic and whether it was modified, both of which can easily be answered definitively with a current list from the bank.

Technically, I think the person who stole the list could argue that it's not actually a real list, that they forged it in an attempt to dupe nefarious buyers. This would force the prosecution to court order an authentic copy of the list to verify/debunk the defendants story. The bank would be forced to either comply with a non-altered list, or face criminal charges for evidence tampering. Once the list makes it to trial, I believe it becomes public knowledge and law enforcement is free to use the information in any way they please.

I'm not a lawyer, but I've needed one a couple of times. That just seems like how it would end up working out to me.
