Right. I would imagine the engineers that designed these things are similar to the parent, and the machines are probably quite well engineered.
And some GI Joe got hold of it and said: whoa.. how do I stop it if it goes crazy? Engineer responds: it won't. GI: Well I ain't touching it unless it has a kill switch!
Hence, it now has a (probably completely technically unnecessary) "kill switch".
Actually it's quite a big difference legally. Who is being paid? If it's him, then he is being employed in the United States by an American company. If it's his company, then he is being employed by a German company that is providing services to an American company.
Itanic went down because Intel neglected to fund in any serious way research on the compiler optimizations necessary for the instruction set. IA64 is a superbly flexible and powerful instruction set.. but also one that's damn near impossible to use efficiently without some serious work.
In my experience, Antec makes really good cases in general. I have 2 sonatas and a lanboy.. they're all awesome. However, you do have to pay for the quality.
And even then there's a big difference between trial lawyer scum like these guys and your typical attorney. Most congressmen that are attorneys aren't trial lawyers.
Knowing programming is like knowing math. These days it's not good enough to just know how to program well, you also need to have a good understanding of the physical system you're writing software to assist. Hence, it's good to know management when writing business software, just like it's good to know physics when writing physics simulation software. I think that's the point of TFA.
Sure, since it's not a precedent at all. The FCC is simply doing what they stopped doing about 20 years ago. As long as we've had licensed public radio and tv we've had decency standards; it's just that in the last 20 years or so the FCC got lazy in enforcing them.
MSFT has yet to be even remotely close to an announced release date for any version or flavor of Windows since the 3.0 days. Vista won't be out next year.. of it is, it'll be a bastardized version of 2003 ala ME.
I don't, but capitalist countries were fighting the same underground war and overt big-weapon contest and managed just fine with it. We even had enough resources lying around to waste them on big ass football stadiums and other such entertainment.
After all, three quarters of the Earth's surface is covered with water.
Yet there are few urban centers on those water-covered areas. While many international flights go over water, US carriers service far, far more domestic flights that go over land.
I know all of that.. I apologize, I misunderstood what you were origionally saying. When I first read your post it sounded like you thought dollars magically turned into yuan which of course isn't the case at all- my point.
Indeed, a lot of dollars float around and never return. In theory good deal for us because it basically amounts to an interest free loan from the world. So long as there isn't a crash in the value of the dollar as you allude to.

In theory, it had a lot of potential.
Geico will have to change its advertising campaign.
Yet it is wildly successful. What does that say about your argument regarding quality?
You misunderstand how the common law system works, as opposed to civil law that is used in Sweden and most other European countries.

I had no idea until now that THX had a public survey. I'll have to use it.
And yet you wrote a paragraph going off like an expert on what the company will do.
co-author of Programming Perl and one of the original main developers of perl.
$11/hour? Ooooooo.. wow. Now that's a lot of money.
Boxes are cheap. For every week of a programmers time, an employer can buy another box.

Sure, just not on radio frequencies licensed from the FCC. You can say pretty much whatever you want on cable.
Oh, and Ann Arbor is a whore.

At 23 I'm just a youngin' so please excuse my ignorance. Aside from seemingly exhaustive documentation, what made VMS so great?

We destroyed their way of life
How so? Their way of life didn't work and the system imploded on itself. Granted we did all we could to speed the process, but we weren't the cause.

Pretty much, yeah.
I dunno.. the relative ideological balance and international coverage of news that CNN provides is certainly of value to society.
I'd guess that it was a planned leak to avoid the convention hall from erupting into boos when the 'surprise' was announced.
