You are fucking nuts if you believe that statement!!! I am running Guild Wars on both Vista and Ubuntu with Cedega...I have not logged into the game on Ubuntu in months! The frame rate SUCKS, and it constantly crashes...Vista on the other hand, is very nice, and the game works wonderfully.
I sent an email to GoDaddy protesting the take down of seclists.org. Here is the reply I received from them. They somehow manage to tie this back to protecting children...Uh, sure, do I look like a fucking n00b, okay, I guess I don't look like anything via email, but COME ON!!!
Scott,
I am Ben Butler, the Director of Network Abuse at Go Daddy and I want to personally address your posts regarding SecLists.org.
As we have said to our customers - Go Daddy is committed to keeping the Internet a safe place. If there is material online that is jeopardizing Internet safety, we will take necessary action.
In this case, Go Daddy attempted to contact the customer with regard to a large list of MySpace user names and passwords which appeared on his Web site. The registrant was not available at the time.
In order to protect users of MySpace from the risk of having private data revealed, we removed the site until we could make contact with our customer. Once we were able to discuss the issue with the registrant, he assured us he would remove the offending material and we re-enabled his site while he was on the phone. The site was back up within one hour.
In each case like this, my department follows a set of operating procedures evaluating whether to remove hosting content or to redirect domain names. The decision is carefully made on a case-by-case basis. Most times, the site is left as is.
An important issue I would ask you to consider is one that is a top priority for us at Go Daddy - child exploitation or even the potential for it.
I don't know of any parent who wouldn't want their child's username and password protected.
Ben Butler
Director of Network Abuse
The Go Daddy Group, Inc

Funny thing is...I have reported active phishing sites which are HOSTED by go daddy, and it takes them up to 2 weeks to take them down...ON THERE OWN FUCKING SERVERS!!!!
Education should not come from opinion, it should come from facts. While it is nice to learn about theory in classrooms, the education by theory should be left to post graduate work.
If you attend the conference (http://www.cwi.nl/projects/crypto/tcc07/) this year. It is in Amsterdam, so it might be a bit far for some to travel, but definitely worth attending. I hope to see some of you there.
It could be that they will enlist the help of people who have been developing a new hash for years, and now will allow them to bring it to light. I personally have one I have been working on for about 3 years, and given another 3 years, do you think that will be long enough to prove/disprove it?
Hmmm...Actually, I used to work in Medicine, and there is just as much discord in medicine as there is in IT. For instance, if you ever get a chance to speak to an MD who worked in a VA medical center, you would get some rather funny (to those of us who are sick bastards) jokes about patience, not to mention about administration. For example, there are "Qs" and "Os" run with that and let me know what you find out.
A-muthafucking-Men!!!! I wish that anyone who used a buzzword in the next 24 hours would die a horrible death of a thousand asshats falling on them...or something!!
Why on Whoever's green earth would you mod some fucking moron who does not even know that NTFS is available as +5 Interesting?!? You need to go back to fucking "How to read and Mod" school!!
Funny...I can double click on the firefox icon on either windows or linux and see the same exact Internet... Installation is a breeze, and I am not a zealot by any means, I run both, both have their place.
I suppose you could still compile it on any platform, and get support somehow. Maybe this is just their way of cutting costs, I mean, if I had some piece of software, I truly do not believe I could support it on EVERY Distro out there. MySQL is good software, I don't think they should be based for this...until we at least find out the truth why they did it.
It always seems that it takes this type of break in, or some large DDoS to get Network/systems engs. to take security to heart. I do security for a living, and on a daily basis, I see people at ALL levels in companies blow it off as just too much of a hassle. Okay, Grated, it for sure can be a hassle at times, but would you rather have loss of information, broken systems, etc or a little inconvenience?!?!?
Much like the UNIX subsystems on IBM MainFrames, Linux provides an Ultra high availability backbone for a system that otherwise might bring down the entire infrastructure when needing to be rebooted. With a Linux virtualization system, you can provide a level of redundancy and support for applications that Microsoft can only dream of. I personally know of a company (yes, I work there) which runs a Seibel CMS system on Windows servers which are virtualized on SuSE 10, and have not had a single outage since they went that route. Prior to that, the system had outages on a weekly basis, and our bonuses suffered for it.
The problem with this is...they spread the money so thin to so many different orgs, that NONE of them can do any good. Give it on a every 5 year basis to one org, and let them try to make a difference.
I know, this is OT, so I put it in the subject. My opinion on the whole Cedega thing is that anyone who would use it would suck a d1ck. I do not play WoW, I play Guild Wars, and their support for Guild Wars is miserable at best. You have to turn off shading, reflections, etc, etc,. I bought the software, or subscription, whatever you want to call it, and ran it an tweaked it, and suffered through the never ending bullshit from their support and STILL NEVER got it to work. I just wish game dev companies would develop a native Linux client, it might actually help push those of us who have to dual boot windows and Linux push over the edge and wipe the windows partition for good!! Cedega Blows!
But, I don't care if the ass hat carved it into a rock and threw it at the girl, I would like to see his perverted ass thrown in jail and have Bubba throw some love his way.
Uh, that would be incorrect...I can install windows on only one computer at a time, but if that computer fails for some reason, and I purchase a new one, I can install the same copy of windows on the new computer, provided I contact their activation service and provide them with the reason I am doing it. Take that you OS X Hoe:o)

You are wrong. Microsoft and Novell agreed to not sue CUSTOMERS over such violations, not each other.
QNX is an RTOS, windows sucks...see the simularities?

They (M$) already have this...any spyware/virus maker will tell you, just click it once and it will run...
