  1. Don't take this the wrong way, but on A Master's In CS or a Master's In Game Programming? · · Score: 0

A Masters in "Game Programming" is almost the equivalent of a Bachelors in Basket Weaving...Mostly useless to almost every employer around. That said, so is a computer science degree. If you had gotten a degree in CS back before say 1998, it may have actually meant something, but now a days, it is all theory, and that theory does not apply directly when you go to get your first job. Believe me when I say, you would be better off doing math, or something more targeted at an applicable science.

I would be willing to bet that 98% of the code in the current machines is either this code, or work that was derived from this, so I don't know about the rest of you but I am whipping out my copy of IDA Pro and having at it!!

  10. Voting on Is An Uninformed Vote Better Than No Vote? · · Score: 0

Not voting is a HUGE waste!!! You have a voice, you have a choice and you have the right to express those views. To NOT vote is just wrong. I understand some people abstain for the same reasons you quote, but you need to pick someone who most closely represents your morals, opinions and standards and vote for them. It is kinda like interviewing 15 candidates for a position, none of them have all the skills you need, but one or two have most of the skills, and one person will stand out as someone who can LEARN the other skills you need. Think about it that way, and you may change your mind. PLEASE CHANGE YOU MIND!!!

Yeah...Add a shitload of software on top of an already exploited system, that should fix it!! Jeezus!! Problem here is that the systems are exploited, when that kind of thing happens, you need to unplug the system from the network, and pull the hard drives, and start anew. Adding a bunch of shit software on top of it will only make things worse. I work for a company who has a presence in 4 states, all 4 states have laws requiring disclosure of loss of customer information, LAWS, not some weak "well, if you lose some data, you might want to disclose it" kind of crap, LAWS!! Cover your ass is not an acceptable answer!

Hmmm... While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, yours is pretty silly. Slashdot is a mostly science based place, and it you do not believe in Science, you should probably go elsewhere, or prepare to be incensed at every turn. Believing that God did something, or did not do something requires proof, not blind faith, and I have seen no proof that god created ANYTHING.

From the perspective of someone who was "in the region" when this happened, I can honestly say that I wish him the most horrific pain and suffering, equal to what those poor people suffered when they were gassed. That said, I wish all of Iraq the best in getting on with their lives, and hope that they understand the suffering that we as Americans have gone through with them in order to help provide them a more democratic country. While I DO NOT agree with the whole "War" there, I do support out troops and hope things settle down soon so that they may return home and get on with their lives as well.

If so, will the user be liable for the software licensing or will that be provided when the drive is purchased?
