No doubt these companies went through network, server and application security assessments and then completely ignored their 3rd party Ad provider that hosts their Ads on a hacked shared host.
With the elimination of the ability to perform exact searches the results by the big boys Google and Bing/Yahoo has frustrating gone back to the early days of the internet. Bing had a chance to take on Google but that ended recently when they went the same route. I can no longer perform a relevant search without bing providing something entire different.
This leaves the field wide open for another player.
At least in space there are ways to create a space station to simulate artificial gravity. All these ideas about colonizing Mars are pointless until there is some scientific breakthrough to simulate earth gravity on the Mars colony.
What you posted seems so obvious to me. It get caught between figuring these guys are brilliant so lowly me must be missing something or there are political motivations behind it.
I thought Google Real Estate using the old Google maps was impressive, accurate and fast. The new Google maps is slow and horrible. I am not really impressed by Trulia or Zillow compared to the old Google Real Estate.
Firefox became my primary browser once I found it stable enough for me to use. These last few releases seem to be a step backwards and I found myself using Chrome more. Buggy and this change for sake of change nonsense. I keep forgetting how to turn the search box behavior back to the way it used to be after being forced to reset FF because of problems.
I wish to keep my private life private and stay off it but have been forced in by our business culture which at one pointed threatened my career with insubordination for refusing to use linkedin.
"Those without a timeline will be at a huge disadvantage." FU, really. I have had enough of companies and the media making it a life requirement to use social media. To stop this crap those pushing it need to be ridiculed and ostracized now. Simply saying no is not working. Where are the radicals when you need them?
Why are people letting some fascist a-hole with a hoodie and his facist sister that have campaigned to eliminate online anonymity have so much power over our personal information and private life. It is mind boggling.
The 24th century productions do not even come close to the quality of New Voyages, Continues or Gods and Men. Cartoonish, cringe worthy acting and/or cheap sets or poor use of green screen.
Renegades looks like it could beat all of them as far as quality and acting however I am not impressed by the dark previews and do not see any 24th century tech. It looks like it is going down the road of being dark trek ala like a Star Wars - JJ Abrams Star Trek production which is watchable but disappointing.
I thought these were of good quality and are looking forward to the next episodes. However I really do not understand the fixation with all these fan productions and the current Star Trek franchise to have to reuse the original characters. Why not new characters and stories on a similar ship.
I would really rather see 24th century fan productions with new characters, a different ship or space station. New DS9 episodes with different characters would be good to. They could even have the original DS9/Voyager actors make guest appearances.
The lack of symplicity I would say started with selinux which I find to this day to be a pain in the ass with bugs and poor logging. I see we are going down the same path with systemd and this continued BS change for the sake of change.
Linux had the chance to rival Microsoft on the desktop and it was absolutely bizarre distros went down the same road as MS with making the desktop like the mobile UI. Maybe I am just a conspiracy theorist but from a distance it seems this is all intentional to prevent Linux as a desktop rival. So it really makes me wonder about the decisions made with selinux and systemd.
If page response is greater than 2 seconds clients will leave and last time I looked that was still a problem with many of the CMS's out there. I end up encountering very large databases with unique tools that are a pain to integrate.
Because of that I continue with my own CMS or create my own then feel foolish for doing so rather than figure out how to get around the integration problems or break them apart to improve their performance.
I see you dropped off the newslookup.com news archive back in September after the redesign and I was going to add you back but noticed that even your news-blog section is blocked.

Every time I read an article that mentions Zuckerberg I know it is going to contain some idea, process or plan I am going to hate. Zuck is the worst possible CEO to have so much power which we know translates to the tech industry following his lead and also legislation.
It is dbags like the Zuckerbergs that make me want to get out of tech since with people following their lead things are only going to get worse for the rest of us.
I had been waiting for news of a new series similiar to STNG set after the Voyager timeline. I would love to have even seen a continuation of DS9.
I hated the idea of Enterprise from the start and it was a failure but at least it was watchable. So what do they go and do, create another prequel based on two of the worst ideas, younger TOS characters and the ST Academy.
I have been hearing the prequel and ST Academy crap for years and hoped it would never come true.
I am a bit skeptical of this report considering some of the members on the task force work for companies that outsource to these regions. There are also members for other nations that benefit from US outsourcing. I also wonder how much funding and donations the academic folks on the task force received for their institutions and pet projects.
The problem is not with nuclear power but with mans inability to manage it. The safety record at plants like Indian Point just north of NYC are pathetic. There is really no oversite since the NRC seems to be in the back pocket of the industry particularly with this administration.
What concerns me even more is security. One of the planes for 9/11 flew right over Indian Point which was a target if they could not make it to WTC.
Yet little has been done to secure Indian Point or the spent fuel pools should any form of attack from land or air occur.
This is one area I agree with the French who are smart enough to put the military and anti-aircraft batteries at the nuclear plants due to threats of terrorism. Despite the public outcry the administration is unwillingly to do what is necessary to secure our nuclear power plants and our borders.
I think people are missing the fact that the interface would not have to go but run as a layer on top of Windows. Apple could market the interface to all users and no longer be limited by their own hardware.
Now with the x86 chips I think you will see the move to Windows but with Apple selling their own interface to run on top of Windows. The software also no longer be restricted to Apple hardware.
The benefit to users will be that they will have the best of both worlds being able to run MS business applications, PC gaming and MAC gui based applications.
The effect it would have on China trade and censorship policies would likely be far greater if a high profile company like Google did not capitulate. I think the Google zealots are coming to terms with reality that the do no evil phrase is just marketing speak. I am not saying they are doing evil however I believe people now realize that Google is no different than any other multi-national corporation doing business in China. So no one should be suprised that they are not doing more to take a stand against censorship and human rights in China.
I just brought online the.com.cn.cn versions of Newslookup.com which is essentially a mirror of our english news service for that region. So this should be interesting to hear service reports from China.
If Zuckerberg and his ilk have their way this would be the norm through legislation by politicians he bought and paid for.

I agree, the whole world should be on UTC. Local or state government and businesses can decide what time to open and close based on UTC.
The processing and removal of the larger and slightly smaller brightly lit pyramids will take time.

How did this get past consensus? It almost seems like the plan is to make Linux more like Windows.

Why trash fsck. I could relate if you said I do not give a systemd about the superbowl.
Because of that I continue with my own CMS or create my own then feel foolish for doing so rather than figure out how to get around the integration problems or break them apart to improve their performance.
Anyone else go through this?

I think people are way too liberal in their use of invoking Godwin's Law. I bet there a code word for that to or I am sure someone will think of one.
