To stop this crap those pushing it need to be ridiculed and ostracized now. Simply saying no is not working. Where are the radicals when you need them?

Why are people letting some fascist a-hole with a hoodie and his facist sister that have campaigned to eliminate online anonymity have so much power over our personal information and private life. It is mind boggling.

The 24th century productions do not even come close to the quality of New Voyages, Continues or Gods and Men. Cartoonish, cringe worthy acting and/or cheap sets or poor use of green screen. Renegades looks like it could beat all of them as far as quality and acting however I am not impressed by the dark previews and do not see any 24th century tech. It looks like it is going down the road of being dark trek ala like a Star Wars - JJ Abrams Star Trek production which is watchable but disappointing.

I thought these were of good quality and are looking forward to the next episodes. However I really do not understand the fixation with all these fan productions and the current Star Trek franchise to have to reuse the original characters. Why not new characters and stories on a similar ship.

I would really rather see 24th century fan productions with new characters, a different ship or space station. New DS9 episodes with different characters would be good to. They could even have the original DS9/Voyager actors make guest appearances.

  14. It started to go down hill with selinux on Is Modern Linux Becoming Too Complex? · · Score: 2

The lack of symplicity I would say started with selinux which I find to this day to be a pain in the ass with bugs and poor logging. I see we are going down the same path with systemd and this continued BS change for the sake of change. Linux had the chance to rival Microsoft on the desktop and it was absolutely bizarre distros went down the same road as MS with making the desktop like the mobile UI. Maybe I am just a conspiracy theorist but from a distance it seems this is all intentional to prevent Linux as a desktop rival. So it really makes me wonder about the decisions made with selinux and systemd.

  21. Mans inability to manage/protect it on New Nuclear Power Plants in the next 5 years · · Score: 2, Interesting

The problem is not with nuclear power but with mans inability to manage it. The safety record at plants like Indian Point just north of NYC are pathetic. There is really no oversite since the NRC seems to be in the back pocket of the industry particularly with this administration.

What concerns me even more is security. One of the planes for 9/11 flew right over Indian Point which was a target if they could not make it to WTC. Yet little has been done to secure Indian Point or the spent fuel pools should any form of attack from land or air occur.

This is one area I agree with the French who are smart enough to put the military and anti-aircraft batteries at the nuclear plants due to threats of terrorism. Despite the public outcry the administration is unwillingly to do what is necessary to secure our nuclear power plants and our borders.

So no one should be suprised that they are not doing more to take a stand against censorship and human rights in China. I just brought online the .com.cn .cn versions of Newslookup.com which is essentially a mirror of our english news service for that region.
