Don't worry about the unnecessary cores. Since they didn't mention what specific i7 its safe to assume its one of the many bait and switch dual core i7. When it comes to advertising, what isn't said means much more than what is explicitly stated.
When this iteration of Metro fails it will be renamed again taking naming DNA from the previous two versions. Windows 10 RTS. The name is an acronym for its intended life cycle, first you buy it thinking it'll run your existing Windows software and then Return To Store for a refund.
Yes, you'll see a few people arguing for MS doing this by saying "Windows 7 is out of *ahem* mainstream support! You shouldn't expect it to work with new processors!" Even if leave aside that extended support certainly has never behaved that way in the past (XP will happily download and install updates on my FM2 machine) they remain silent about Windows 8.1 also disabling the updates that is STILL IN mainstream support.
Microsoft support guidelines simply do not mean anything. They can change at any time in any way you can imagine.
Nvidia drivers (guest drivers) for consumer grade cards have methods that detect if the card is installed in a VM which then disable the drivers (code 43) to prevent them from running. KVM has options to workaround these methods so you can still run the cards, but IIRC nvidia has changed the method in the past and we're on the second or third workaround so there's a worry they'll eventually change to yet another method of detection and break things intentional again. This cat and mouse game is not desirable which is the main reason a lot of people recommend AMD cards for passthrough configuration.
Why not go to a public library? They're all over the place and have wifi and are at least somewhat quiet as a rule. Our local one even has meeting rooms you can book.
That theory works great until Really Good Quality Boot company decides to juice up its quarterly profits by outsourcing production to dumpy boot company, effectively selling their reputation for short term profit. And then after you spend $100 on two pairs of Not actually Really Good Quality Boot Company boots before figuring it out you move to Really Good Boot Comapny's closest competitor. Only they instituted the same changes to compete and suck just as bad.
End Result is you've spent $150 for 3 pairs of $10 boots and since reputations don't seem to mean anything anymore you just start buying $10 boots because while they're crap at least they're cheap.
I have no-name cheap baytrail tablet with Win8.1 I bought for $5AR new during the height of the product dumping. Total impulse buy, no real use for the thing. AMD was forced out of the low end of the market where their APUs might have found a niche, can't compete with $0 you're just bleeding yourself out.
ARM companies just held on until Intel got tired of trying to fill a black hole with dump trucks full of cash. Then last year Intel fired the whole Atom team and shut it all down, admitting defeat.
Let's also not forget the 1366x768 resolution limit. Which ended up not really being much of a limitation anyway since low end craptop screens seemed to all regress down to that even if they are 15" units around the same time anyway.
Actually, I wonder if starter edition resolution limit didn't actually boost demand for that terrible resolution.
Right, I forgot most humans die due to PC gaming deficiency. Microsoft has the big budget EA games that are required to prevent PC Gaming malnourishment related deaths that plagued mankind for centuries. I guess there's nothing to be done then.
Now that firefox has withered away and IE "edged" its marketshare into the toilet to the benefit of Chrome its time google start flexing its muscle to abuse its dominate position.
Given that Microsoft basically abandoned most of the things they did with the Windows 8 UI it sounds more like those OEMs weren't dragging their feet but were just neglecting to hold a bag of shit MS was trying to hand them.
Would it be possible to write into all your contracts that none of your products could be used in the east district of Texas to avoid this? I suppose even if it was they'd just go up the chain to the next most terrible district.
It seems like it would make more sense to buy AMD if they were going to do this since they don't own their own foundries anymore. And it would be a lot cheaper besides that.
Maybe it just needs a new branding initiative to instill trust in the ecosystem. Maybe something like, ReadForSure. That way you know you'll always be able to read your books for sure because they said so this time.
That complaint is obsolete now though. Just get HBO now for a month and binge all the episodes. The show up on there the same time they show up on the channel.
Its pretty hard to get upset about our mobile phone prices when they're placed against the backdrop of our bankrupting and life destroying healthcare and college education prices.
On VMWare: I believe they have a working HTML5 replacement for the Flash client, in addition to the embedded host HTML5 client (replacement for the Windows client)
The bigger issue here is both of these things are still buggy and they're cutting off support for the not buggy C# client with 6.5.
I totally understand DVD is not a growth center and never will be again. I don't think its to much to ask that they replenish the missing disks to a series though or failing that at least remove the series from the library as it effectively doesn't exist anymore.
Its also kind of weird they developed an iOS app for this at all if its just a vestige of past.
Worse than this is at least some of the movies they have when they break/lose the disc they just don't replace it. There's a disc 4 missing on a series I wanted to watch that I placed in my saved section over a year ago. Why the hell would I want to start watching a show with no way to get the episodes on disc 4?

Look out! Its maturing! Do what it says or it will mature again.
I also am shocked that Verizon's newly purchased mouth piece doesn't have great things to say about AT&T's latest marketing initiative.

I used a prepaid VISA rebate card that had 5 cents left on it to activate mine. I agree its irritating though.

Generally yes, but it was buy one get one free day at the clinic.

They're also stomping the shit out of Amiga.

On option 2: What about "Action". Anyway, I agree complaining about the word start prior to shutdown is just whining about details.
