Fuck "offensive". It's pathetic. I'm disappointed. Here's a big Fuck You to anyone who tagged it "gay". Get a better pejorative you immature little pricks.

If you're offended by it, your English sucks. The word gay is more than a descriptor for a minority sexuality. It has a completely seperate meaning in this context, where it can only offend those who innately make the link between "homosexuality" and "bad". I don't make that link, and if I were gay, the use of the word "gay" as a pejorative wouldn't offend me any more than the word "gringo" does now. I don't make any link between "white European" and "bad", so all it tells me is that the person saying it is xenophopic and doesn't like me.

It takes two for offense to occur. One to act, and one to react. Reacting to shit like this is like a server responding to every packet sent to every port. It's a pointless vulnerability. Patch it today - the exploit code is already out there, it's called trolling.

  14. Morrowind on Living In Oblivion · · Score: 2, Interesting
I'm getting the impression from all these reviews that most journalists have either forgotten or never played Morrowind. All this raving on and on about this new freedom is redundant. You were all saying the exact same things about Morrowind a few years back.

Not only that, but the exact same problems are still present. People are still resorting to leveling by just standing there and repeating actions. Crashing is still a huge problem. Balance is still screwed, only now, you don't have the respite of becoming more powerful than your enemies.

It sounds like they've only fixed one or two of the issues with Morrowind: rigid NPCs, annoying travelling, and underpowered magic spring to mind.

I loved Morrowind. Spent months in it. I might do the same with Oblivion in a few years, late to the party just like with Morrowind, after they've patched all the needless crashing, and the hardware requirements become realistic to the current generation. And once the community has stepped in with mods to literally finish the game on Bethesda's behalf.

But I'm not buying a 360, and I don't run Windows, so maybe I'll just continue to run Morrowind on my Xbox. You can have mods on Xbox if you want to badly enough, by the way. Not likely to happen on thge 360.

These vulnerable people don't have a Jack Thompson to fight for them. They are left to the abuses of the explosives industry, who are quite happy to suck them dry. How long can America go on ignoring this problem? Will it take another 9/11? Won't somebody please think of the suicide bombers?!

If anything, it was because the people who I had previously hung out with just didn't click with me anymore, and suicide bombing was a way to distance myself from them.

This is. Apart from that, nothing. More importantly, there's nothing stopping you from making amazingkiddiesexvideos.com. It's an opt-in business standards label, but they're trying to market it as a measure against child porn, for the sake of the save-the-puppies angle in the news.

This has nothing to do with morality or filtering technology or anything. "Some people" means ICM Registry, who aside from pushing the idea itself, plan to be the ones in charge of charging "$10 (U.S.) annually from every .xxx domain registered" (http://www.icmregistry.com/).

The sick thing about this is the audacious misrepresentation. The notion that it is going to have any effect on child porn is insulting, and the fact that "Child and family safety groups" is unbelievable. It's a consumer rights idea, nothing more.

The fact is, nobody can let on that they care about the rights of consumers who are paying for sinful, immoral porn. But, it's such a huge, tantalising pie that it was only a matter of time before someone found a way to get a piece. Touting the "OMG SCARY INTERNET" angle will still get you most anything, if you're a corporation...

Meanwhile, the child pornographers will continue to run their .com sites, and the authorities will continue to bust them the same ways as before.
