Having been a consumer of both flavors of Koolaid (M$ & APL) in the past, I am happy to say that I am in recovery and looking forward to Android 3.0, but not until the dust settles and it's a reality.
I'm shocked, shocked, I say. Have to agree with the causi pro causi folks, though: Ignorant people flock to FAUX News specifically because they wish to remain ignorant and, indeed, to get strokes for it.
The IT biz is full of micro-Nazis, mostly people in management who have no business managing anything. Developers (generally somewhat socio-pathic) end up getting promoted to managers and their ineptitude with people then becomes a major problem. Just do your job and let your managers think they're smarter than you.
Personally, I can type a lot faster than I can write, and my writing skills have deteriorated over the years -my writing is often illegible, even to me. Plus, I can't grep notepads, which also often get lost or tattered. I can keep my notes and papers organized on a USB stick. Still, I do keep a notepad handy in case there are diagrams I want to jot down or if there is an activity that requires paper.
So many analyses seem to compare the potential output with what is now being used, but just look around - especially at night - and you'll see that HUGE amounts of energy are being wasted on poor insulation, lights left on, heating large, deserted spaces, etc., etc. Renewable energy, YES! but we also need to seriously reduce our usage.
It's not like they're out to rape us or keep us from accessing needed health care or anything bad. They're our friends, just like the nice fellows in the black helicopters.
And just exactly which hands are the right hands to wield lethal weapons? I don't know, I'm not inclined to accept this person's (or anyone else's) opinion about who are the "right" people. But then, I'm just not a big fan of shooting people.
