Sony, with their chest pounding A BILLION TRILLYGONS PER MICROSECOND THE PS3 WILL CHANGE YO LIFE banter, are you going to try and convince me that their only competition for Nintendo is rereleasing an incredibly weak and dated system and that Sony expects to support the system, along with the PS3, as well as third party developers?
You guys are huffing way too much ether man.
There is no official word from Nintendo about its delay. All of this information comes from an interview on G4 between Reggie and one of the goobers from Judgement Day.
I could be wrong, but from what I remember (only watched it twice) there was never a point in the segment where Zelda's release was brought up with Reggie specifically stating that it has been delayed.
Also, people are not considering the localization delay between a Japanese and US release. It could still be released on target in Japan and there will be the standard few months between a local launch.
Im holding my breath.
but the industry as a whole would certainly not be as lively as it is today.
Other than the NES bringing the industry back from the brink, what do we owe Japanese developers?
Personally I owe them a good bit. Most of my favorite games are from Japanese studios, but there are nearly an equal amount of western developed games that Ive enjoyed as well. Maybe even more.
Salute to them for doing a good job, sure, but dont give them most of the credit.
That Im going to have to get another DS.
The redesign is fine with me. My old DS will continue to work, but the new design is just too much to pass up.
Yeah, you get that alot with Sony.
Situation in Japan is much easier to read. The PSP has outsold the DS in January, so far. But why? Well, thats because the DS was completely outsold and in very limited quantities.
Hahah.

The NPD Group, which tracks retail sales in the United States, estimates that Nintendo has sold 2.37 million units of its portable game player, to 2.16 million unit sales for Sony's PSP.
Dated Monday, December 26, 2005. Did the PSP sell 200,000 units in five days?
No.
This article is mistaken.

Thats a-okay in my book.
