Star Southfield was nice when it opened, but I can't stand it now. Try the new theater complex in Birmingham, or the older Birmingham Theater. You'll get better service and enjoy the movie more than you will at Star Southfield.
Lately I have been diagnosed with Reynaud's Disease (or phenomenon). Basically cold weather causes the blood vessels in my hand to spasm or constrict, making some of my fingers white or numb.
The causes seem fairly murky, but stress or emotion can be a factor and I have seen pages alledge that working with vibrating tools can be a factor. I wonder if computer use/gameplay can cause this kind of condition in the fingers. Anyone else have experience with this?
By Michigan law only the driver license number, date of birth, and license expiration date can be stored. No other personal identifiers such as name, address or driving record can be included in the bar code or magnetic stripe per strict legislation.
It doesn't look real. Something about the models, miniture sets and mock-ups of Hoth and other planets in the first three movies had a texture to them that made them more believeable. Also the camera didn't fly all over the place constantly.
Looks like another pod race type scene (a big CGI jack off session that has nothing to contribute to a story) and a lot more characters that you won't care about (but hey, if Lucas throws 300 new characters in he can sell figures of them all to people that have to buy every single one.
This crap almost makes you feel like becoming a Trekkie (shudder). At least they come up with an interesting story and leave the visuals as a compliment to it.
I think I am going to buy an expensive machine in a case that is an example of elegant industrial design and put the guts in something much uglier and less functional (except the wheels). Plus he ruined a perfectly good vacuum.
What's next?
Potato Mac? Mac with a Burlap Idaho Potato bag case?
Mac Jacket? Kevlar wearable Mac?
Mac Bar? Mac that dispenses chips?
Mac Truck?
Maybe I will dust off my mom's old Mac LC and turn it into a/. phenom.
There has to be dozens of more useful or at least more interesting case designs out there.

Every joke in it was tired. Everyone is trying to out-do Something About Mary.
Katz is right, Jack Black was born funny, Tenacious D is indeed the best band on earth and KG's cameo as a magician was cool, but nothing could save this cinematic atrocity.
Also, everyone complains about movie reviews??? What's that about? I haven't been to/. in a while but I remember a time where it seemed like 30% of the stories were related to (the equally shitty) Episode I.
Here is my understanding. Tee Vee Toons (TVT)used to put out records of TV show themes (actually they still do). TVT took a chance on Nine Inch Nails which paid off famously. Trent Reznor and TVT had a falling out after "Pretty Hate Machine" resulting in Reznor's refusal to work with with the label any further. Since NIN was still under contract to TVT this meant that the band refused to work on a follow up album and instead remained on the road. At this point Interscope stepped in and purchased TVT with the specific purpose of acquiring Nine Inch Nails. At least that was my understanding at the time. Now they claim to be an independant company, so I don't know if that is true. I do know that they merged with Wax Trax!, one of the greatest labels ever, and made it suck.
What we could probably use less of is this elitist bullshit attitude. Guess what? You don't own the internet. No one does. Get over it. Personally I don't long for the days of surfing boring web pages in Mosaic, but I am sure some people do. I think the web is getting more functional all the time, and it's exciting. But if there is one thing I cannot stand above anything else it's this clear the web of newbies/plebs/whatever argument. You were a newbie too once, everyone was. You should be glad there weren't people with your attitude to discourage you to learn. My mom is making a web page, and even if it's recipes or pictures of her garden, I think it's great. If cheap web applicances bring more people in that's good, the web needs more diversity and viewpoints. Attitudes like this will only serve to make things worse.
"The more a design relies on knowledge in the head, the less usable it is."
Let me get this straight... you are a "NT, Linux & Solaris" user and you are bitching about a Mac not easy enough to use?
By your own definition Linux would be horribly unusable. Maybe Apple should include freecell and change the trash can to the recycle bin so that OSX is a little more intuative for everybody. Personally I think I can withstand the intense mental concentration it will require to open and close the windows. And while I may have to forget some of my extensive knowledge of beers of the world in order to fit the information into my brain, I think that after using the software for about 5 minutes it will become intuitive.
I think what you forget is that no matter how hard you try, unless you want to copy something exactly, an interface will feel awkward at first. When I made the switch from a Mac to the vaunted Windows 3.x it felt clumsy and odd at first. The trash can/recycle bin location was different as well as the computer icon on the desktop. Floppy icons did not appear on the desktop when discs were inserted. The close window button was on the other side. But as you pointed out, the design was easy to understand and with very little learning it was easy to use.
I think that somebody needs to lead us forward in operating system interface design, and you know it will not M$. It will be interesting to see where all of the current technologies take us and if they ever converge. But guess what? We'll all be using our heads a lot more (hopefully).

that blocks a hundred million pieces of spam a day coming FROM the net
As far as I can tell from my moms account it is much much worse than hotmail when it comes to spam detection.
Move to Michigan.

Dude, are you Steve?
It might not be perfect for you specifically, but it'd probably get non-linux users to play around with it and perhaps become hooked.
I seriously don't have a problem with not letting a guy with extraneous wiring on an airplane. I am surprised security even caught it.
However removing his devices by force is not right.
our rep keeps the punk ass bitches out.

All the CGI looks like anime or something.
