I'm a 'conservative'. Not Far right, but a little right. I'm also a non practicing evangelical.

I personally believe all sickness is a punishment on mankind for original sin, for we were immortal and perfect in the beginning. Just my belief, you may have your own.

To suggest that a human would try to block the research of a cure/vaccine for HIV because they believe it is punishment on homosexuals is absurd. That person isn't a fundamentalist, they are retarded.

Given unlimited time, human intelligence would reach GOD-like proportions. Just read the first couple chapters of Genesis. Satan told Eve just enough truth to get her to believe a lie. If we don't nuke ourselves off the map first, we will eventually cure/stop HIV.

However, history/evolution/biblical teaching all suggest that if and when we do so, another sickness will eventually arrive on the scene that is just as deadly or worse.

I have worked in the IT department of an insurance company for coming up on 3 years. I was greeted with no such agreement nor have I signed one. IT has never even been suggested that I may need to.

I did have to recently sign a non-disclosure agreement, which is pretty standard when they are going to share something with us that the world can't know about yet. But I could give them the finger tommorow and go work for a direct competitor if I wanted.

Granted, I'm a network technician / jr. system admin and not a programmer, but I'm pretty sure those guys don't sign anything here either.

Now the amusing thing is, in a previous life, I worked in a small computer store where we built and repaired PC's, and there I did have to sign a non compete agreement saying if I left that I could not work for a competitor in the same county for something like three years.

Why aren't things hidden more often in the alternate data streams? You can hide text in file, for instance, like so: c:\> vol > vol.txt c:\> dir > dir.txt c:\> type vol.txt > dir.txt:secretarea now the contents of vol.txt are also stored in an alternate data stream in dir.txt the dir.txt filesize does not change, and by using type or even notepad you cannot see what is in the alternate data stream (ADS), but a simple c:\> more dir.txt:secretarea will return the contents that were in the original vol.txt This example just shows how to store text in an ADS, but I'm pretty sure that you could store other things too, for example, files. I wonder why virus writers do not store files in ADS of system files in order to avoid detection. I wonder if encryption methods could be integrated with ADS. You know, even if you manage to decrypt the file, what you are looking for is in an ADS that you don't know about. Yeah, I know. Offtopic.
