    u right linux is perfect for servers (heck i have 3 running as we speak non stop
      for almost a year), i love the stability

    but for the descktop. nagh

    time is money i dont have time to be surfing helpgroups for anwers whenever i want
      something done

    anyways most software i use on my desktop doesnt exist on linux

      "files riff is corrupted"

    im not trying to be funny but why wouldnt they code up firefox in Java or even (dare i say it without being flamed out of existence) C#??

    Java would make their development alot easier across platforms, also latest java version 5(or 1.5 as some call it) is quite fast

    heck as we speak i have azureus, eclipse and zend studio working away running on the JVM only taking 50MB of memory, and when i close the programs i have peace of mind

    Octa Core?
    Hexa Core?

    as the numbers of cores increase, and they will! the names will get more rediculous, and harder for the average John Doe to pronounce

    in there quest for ever larger profits (as if making billions is not good enough)

    the mobile phone operators (on whose networks these devices run on) are killing inovation and use of networked services

    i mean what good is having a mobile with the latest opera browser if that "really cool widget i want" will cost me a fortune to get at 10 a megabyte (yes vodafone and Co. do rip us off blindly!!!
    i mean come on! on a broadband connection i can get 20 gigibytes of data for same price, which is ALOT of heavy browsing)

    is any one else bugged by our BIG BROTHER GOOGLE?

    i mean they read my emails, know what i search for, what i buy, store my chats, know my bank account (due to monthly adsense money transfers)

    now they want to know where i drive!

    i can see it now on my personalised google homepage theres going to be a box for "previous drives" with a list of where i driven (similar to current previous searches)

    or even better, adverts poping up on the navigator telling me that i would love a burger from the macdonalds 50meters ahead

    would it not be easier to put this $50billion into a political campaign to bring some conservationalist dudes into power,

    who in turn can tax gasoline out of existence
    and pump that tax money into subsidising greener vehicles

    or put this money into fusion research! how about fusion powered air conditioners
      to cool the earth? [doesnt sound as far fethched as 8000barges either :)]

    theres no telephone line rental, i dumped the telephone just use mobiles 3mbit cable + cable line rental + digital tv @ about 65 A month about 20% of that is VAT (value added tax) they love to tax us here in the EU also theres such a thing called "TV License" (nothing to do with broadband) but our friends on the other side of the pond might be shocked that we have to pay a yearly tax on OWNING A TV!! :(
