Enter In Passwords
This is a new screen that prompts the users
to enter the Passwords so that the VEPP
can verify the user. There are two
passwords that are required to be entered.
Factory default for these passwords is
000000.
my response is always "I'm sorry, which company are you with?" (They answer, and ask for the phone number if it didn't show on my CallerID, and I reply) "Thank you, you know I'm on the do not call list and I will be reporting this violation"...
So far there has been an immediate click on the other end *every* time I have stated that. And I have reported *every* call immediately after the offender hangs up, and I literally have not heard BACK once from the offending people. My calls have gone from few to almost nonexistant. (You're right I have gotten a few 'survey' calls but so far none of them has called back.;-)
Do you really think auto-manufacturers are doing a better job? Or do they just have MORE incentive?
A car 'crashes' and someone could die.
Windows crashes..you loose some work. And M$ sees another revenue opportunity--sell you a new pile of crap code to fix "your problems"...is there any wonder there isn't any incentive to fix this?

He's "booksmart" and some of the stuff he spews makes some sense, but I don't think he's always in touch with the actual reality of usability...
