If you tap the Windows key and start typing, like in previous versions it will start searching for what you typed. So that still works the same, at least.
What's a "Windows" key?
My 27 year old Model M doesn't have one.
Cheers,
RM
LoL, while it does not have one, it's not 27 years old, either. Even as ancient as two of mine are (first run for PC), they're not quite 27 yet. They're getting close though.;-)
...and now they could be enjoying the rapture of Windows Phone's one percent market share. after having sold their soul to the devil to get there like Nokia is doing.
What the hell?!?!?! Talk about FUD and misinformation!!! It's almost 1.5% of the market share (of WM's total 3%). C'mon!!!
Not quite. The Arctic Circle's precipitation is (1) VERY low to begin with (20" or less a year) and (2) hasn't really changed.
Though the bigger problem is water levels will continue to rise. Anyone can test this by freezing fresh water, putting it in salt water of the same temperature as the Arctic Ocean, and watching what happens when the fresh-water ice cube melts. Or, you can find the real scientists who've studied such.
No, it's not. By the way, it's telling that there are only a million unique daily visits, much less than the claimed number of registered users. Google Buzz also achieved millions of users in a very short time but lost momentum as the novelty wore off and people stopped using the service.
That statistic does not seem to take into account mobile use (which is largely how I and others use G+).
Wow, there's an option in Google Accounts Preferences that enables multiple accounts being open at once in the same window, in different tabs - and works with almost all Google Services. I use 2-3 Google accounts at once.
The "wow" part is it's obvious, like other Google tools and capabilities, that Google is lacking in disseminating the info to everyone. Glad it's not just me (just found the feature last month).
Technically, your data is stored with an OSP (who in some cases may be an ISP also). Your internet access is provided by an ISP (who may also be an OSP). There is a legal distinction - though I am not sure if this law makes that distinction or covers both types of entities.
To explain the concepts, Google is an OSP (or was... I believe they've gotten into providing internet access as well). ATT (their online division) is an ISP (and now digging into OSP territory).
An OSP is a provided of online services.
An ISP is a provider of Internet Access Services. - at least as the terms have been differentiated in places like supporting docs and sites related to the DMCA.
'The bill is mislabeled... This is not protecting children from Internet pornography. It's creating a database for everybody in this country for a lot of other purposes.'
Conyers hit the nail on the head.
Which will be quickly embraced by the **AA and the government lackeys pushing to criminalize critical commentary, bad reviews, fair use and things currently considered civil sharing violations - as well as for their current actions.
This is a perplexing no-brainer error.
Afterall, this is the company that has brought us so much, underpinned by writing or rewriting the book on datacenters, storage and databases.
I understand that its field testing or in Google-speak "Beta", but "running out of disk space"?
+3 for communicating what the issue was and apologizing.
-5 for it happening in the first place.
It's very easy to understand how this happened. Many people were circumventing Google closing the invite system down. Recent data and speculation out there indicates MILLIONS have done so in the last few days. It's not just a matter of adding more storage - there's a lot more to a system as complex. At the speed of their growth, it's quite possible that new arrays and/or clusters couldnt be added and initialized quick enough. Again, with the invite system closed, Who would have expected the userbase to triple or quadruple in such short period of time?
Also, field testing isn't the same as beta. gmail sat in beta for years - and during those years, it wasnt undergoing field testing. This was opened, to a limited number of users for field testing - beta tag notwithstanding. I think the confusion here lies in the fact that Google has often used the beta tag on products/services that others would never consider a beta product. This time, they have a real beta, in a real field test, and they meant it - and we (or at least myself and a few million others) bypassed the "Trial Closed to new testers" (or whatever it says) msg and exceeded their capacity.
So, when will you ever stop trolling? Oh, nevermind... not until the paychecks to you stop coming in, right? It's time your bosses realize your usefulness has passed as the vast majority of us know you're a paid shill. I mean, c'mon... no one can really be so stupid unless they're being paid to be.
Troll much? Many gmail users became Buzz users by default. Google+ users have had to fight their way in. So... is this (yet another) troll post, or do you simply just not know what you are talking about?
I see what you're doing there. You expect me to deny being Fred, you'll come back with someone else, and by process of elimination, you'll narrow it down to me. Uh-huh. Yeah. How many rounds of this nonsense do we go through, to eliminate the couple billion males who COULD BE me?
I dunno, I think we're making good progress... we just managed to trick you into eliminating half the population for us!;-)
Wrong. The OP's post was full of misinformation and outright lies. That's not a difference of opinions. When talking facts and truth - or misinformation and lies, there's not much opinion. But I wont waste your time getting into that, there are already DOZENS of posts above this one that point it all out - all of which you obviously ignored as well.
You, Microsoft has a huge R&D division in the following subjects
- Algorithms and theory
- Hardware development
- Human–computer interaction
- Machine learning, adaptation, and intelligence
- Multimedia and graphics
- Search, retrieval, and knowledge management
- Security and cryptography
- Social computing
- Software development
- Systems, architectures, mobility, and networking
- Computational and Systems Biology
It's the largest one in the industry. They really do lots of research, and should enjoy the results aswell.
I don't have any mod points and I'm not sure if your comment is correct but I see nothing that merits a troll rating. Can someone fix this please?
Why? In all of those areas, the VAST majority of Microsoft's "R&D" consists of buying the technology, ideas and/or patents. That's not MS R&D. That's someone else's R&D. As a for instance, 2 items were listed above, which were rip-offs of IBM ideas when IBM took over OS/2 development (and done better, I might add, for OS/2). Heck, much of the GUI ideas were "borrowed" (ie: copied or used as the basis for Microsoft's ideas) primarily from IBM's OS/2 2.0 and secondarily from Apple (and hence the Win95 interface was born - with a highly crippled look-similar interface). Many others were acquired or outright copied from other companies.
And a number of the MS patents are things other companies designed, created and used; that Microsoft then patented the idea of - AFTER the fact. Slashdot has been full of stories of Microsoft patenting the most absurd ideas that most or all of us has shouted out is such obviousness, and so extensively covered as prior art.
'Verizon won't roll them out to kiosks until it performs better on the market. ..'
. . . and it won't perform better on the market until agents have it in their hands to offer customers. Catch-22 anyone?
I was having the same thought. Though, I am curious, with Microsoft's touted initial sales (to the carriers) figures, it seems that the carriers did have them. If that's the case, then I suspect they aren't any longer getting floor space because they didnt sell (which has been covered here numerous times in the past 7 or so months). Not too long after it came out (around the G2's release), T-Mobile had a very nice display set up for their WP7 devices. If they dont anymore, maybe it is lack of interest. Like in any retail environment, one doesnt waste valuable display space for non-selling products (unless it's a clearance rack, which generally doesnt apply to cell phones).
The criticism and complaints against these officers is completely justified... they should face charges at a formal hearing for this... but a blanket statement about "we hate cops" makes you look silly and juvenile. Government... federal, state, and local... has become far too powerful. But they're not yet the Nazis you and other perpetually outraged Slashdotters make them out to be.
My opinion is fuck the formal hearing. There's video evidence and witnesses. They should be arrested, processed, booked, arraigned, need to post bail, go to court... then back to jail when found guilty, then lose the civil suit they should also surely face.. There've been other cases of "charges" at formal "hearings" where nothing much happens without a lot of outside pressure. It's time bad apples like this face the same repercussions that the average citizen would (especially considering they are the ones who should properly know and be enforcing the law). In all else, I agree with you 100%.
Shot down? I've got excellent karma, and virtually all my posts are modded 2-5. And no, White Plains, #537. And plenty of proof. About a lot of things. See you soon.
You dont understand profit, or CompUSA.
(1) expenses are the same (except our portion of rent, which is MORE expensive).
(2) that includes parts, labor etc
(3) pay rates were the same in all stores
(4) It wasn't on Long Island. Bad guess. Irrelevant anyway
(5) Profit is: labor and parts markup income minus expenses. Location changes none of that. I never said we made more or less than a certain store. I said our profit percent, as in MARGIN was 74%.
Now, let me help you with that. If a shop makes $7400 out of $10,000, then they had a 74% net of gross. If they made $740,000 out of a MILLION dollars, it's STILL 74%.
Got it?
BTW, visiting my links and stalking me here isn't smart.

And well worth watching. I know I got a woodie watching it.

So... do I win?
</end poor attempt at humor>
Wow, WHOOOSH to the guy with the mod points!!!!
Yeah, well count me out until it works in Linux!
Lets not even get into the lack of public groups/circles, what a fiasco. I'm not going to add 500+ people individually to make a group.
Hmmm... are the features you are looking for stuff like the "Public" option and the "Extended Circles" option? Guess you perhaps havent tried Google+?

By hitting a tree.
Well, not sure I can fault that. It is a tried, tested and true method. ;-)
