We've reached the point where men and women have chosen their paths, and a huge amount of women choose not to do math, physics, chemistry and computing. They do chose law, medicine, and biological science, and are often overrepresented in these areas. And they're happy doing what they do..
Well, you can see men being passed over because they're either white or women all over the place. Just look at all the diversity grants and allocated positions. That is not just a slight bias, that's outright enshrining it in policy.

Except when you take a single subject and cherry pick it (i.e. "Women are underrepresented in high earning tech" and allocating money to fix that, while ignoring "Women are overrepresented in Vetinary Science and a good many high paying biological science roles" simply means that you're essentially setting up for a scenario where you will actually put money in to ensure "Women are the best people for the job via education" for all the high paying areas, ensuring men are actively discriminated against, and end up overrepresented in low paying jobs.).
What should be concentrated on is: Educate every person to the best standard you can in the field they have the most affinity and enthusiasm for. That will determine who is the best person for the job irrespective of gender and race, which is the way it's meant to be.
Your logic is distinctly faulty. It probably means 1 and 2 being true, then you've found an edge case where the race/sex matched the generalisations of another set.
What you've effectively said is that if all things are equal, then you discriminate against the while male for no other reason than "why not" (your given reasons of hardship etc. carry no real weight; all backgrounds can, and do have hardships they've overcome)..

Ok, and let's get equal leave for paternity, money spent getting males into Vetinary sciences etc. where they're underrepresented, and a whole host of things that are directed at women. This insistence that there must be equal everything at each step, and that the company must have x people in post to match a general demographic of population by discriminating based on sex or skin colour is atrocious.
I'm all for meritocracy (hell, my hiring practices of the past decade have had me hiring in approximately 50% ethnic minorities, as they were flat out the best candidates for the job that presented at interviews). If I remember aright, there are 9 gender classifications in hospital records.. Those include a few medical issues such as lack of identifiable gender and hemaphroditic.. Sometimes, someone doesn't identify with one or the other..
Though I prefer Diving Log, which has a client for phone and desktop. I use the phone in surface intervals to chuck in notes about the dive, and put heavier typing and such in on the desktop, when I synchronise the phone across.. Works nicely for me.
It's not people finding him tasteless that caused this.. It's the guy who wrote it turning himself into the cops under the law that's there to protect from cyber bullying and trolling.. Sounds like he did it to protect himself from equally (or more) tasteless and irresponsible trolling.. All silliness that's got out of hand..

These established occupants made it impossible to negotiate a transfer, so the only way to do it would be to evict them and force them off (which means you're pro forced resettlement of a population, which is really not a good thing). The legal measures failed because the population of the affected area spoke their wishes.
So, not abiding by the established population's wishes, Argentina fell back to force, and sent in military to force the populace at gunpoint to claim what once was an unpopulated island (prior to England and France populating it back in the 1600's).
Have a good read of the history, and it turns out that Argentina has only very tenuous claim to the Islands. Now, England has been allowing Ireland, Scotland and Wales to secede if they wish (i.e. the recent Scottish independence referendum). This is seen as a progressive measure. If Argentina were to establish a claim on the Falklands, do you think they'd allow it to secede, despite the entirity of the population voting to leave? Would they hell. If they did, Falklands would secede at the first vote (they've made that plain), and would likely choose to join either England again as they historically have chosen to, or perhaps the EU.

You get out because it's not for you. Saying that nobody has the requirement to attempt to be better while discussing is merely an excuse for laziness and trolling. I know you don't mean it as that, and it's no slight, but that's the way it ends up. Really, I thoroughly enjoy a discussion with someone who has a different viewpoint to me on something. It's rare I don't learn something from that. But these days, there's an awful lot of ad hominem attacks used in place of actually having an argument or point of view. You may still wish to perceive something a particular way, but it helps to have your view widened by actually having someone else's well rationalised view on it as well..
Actually, men are expected to have thick skin, and work themselves to the bone with no complaint. We're supposed to be the "breadwinners" and go out and bring the cash back to a family. That means having to talk nice to others, take the hits, and bear with it. There is all kinds of abuse levelled at men in the workplace, but it's all socially acceptable, because it's considered a tough and hungry workplace. When you post on a prominent blog, guys get all kinds of threats too. Death being the usual one, threats to family, abuse of all kinds.. MAke the wrong sound on some, and poof, there goes your job. Now, it seems from this that women should have the right to post whatever they want, wherever they want, and have it all nice and fluffy. Honestly, yes, they should. But so should men. But nobody makes a big noise and says "men should be protected from this too". Now, if the article had said "people suffer abuse, and this should stop", I'd say hurrah, and be benind it. However, saying "women need these protections, and we honestly don't care about the men.. In fact, we blame it all on the men because they're the largest population in the segment" is horrendously sexist.

Highest mountains etc. It's not far stretch to say, actually, they were from the skies, and had technology that looked like magic. So that still fits. Speaking English is no great shakes.. Asgard is still full of Nordic runes that they seem quite happy with. That basically says they're multi lingual (or have translator devices).. What's so great about that? Still 100% fit with the nordic pantheon. Other deep details may have changed.. But it still follows the basic story. Thor is "the son of Odin". Since when did "son of" mean a female? I'd have no problem with Thor buggering off for a while, and a female taking up the hammer. Some new name, or one of the females of the pantheon. What completely doesn't make sense is having a female character _become_ Thor, just because she takes up a weapon used by Thor. That's like you using your computer at work all day, and moving on to the next job (or being fired), and just because people are way too lazy, they simply force the next person in of an opposing gender to take your name and identity because they can't be assed to do anything new. It's lazy pandering. A complete gender change while keeping the name is just stupid. Adds nothing. If you feel differently, just name your daughters to Brian and Kevin.
