I'm no IE fan but I just installed it and it didn't override my settings. It did however change it's default search engine to yahoo, and when I went to change it back to Google the option wasn't there. I actually had to do a little work to get Google added back, which was annoying. Doesn't really matter, I'm sticking with Firefox...
So that means 91.5% are just fine. Honestly, that number is fine with me. I mean seriously, you can find that level of addiction probably in almost anything. I'm sure 8.5% of them are also addicted to cartoons, Britney spears, toy cars, and barbies..
I believe it was Bush who created the bank bailout. Now I don't like the bailout ether way but you can't blame Obama for something that was already law before he became president. You can however point fingers at him all you want over the second bail out, but that one wasn't for the banks aka AIG.
Would she have claimed Apple was keeping her from classes? She would have had the same issues. She is the one who choose the non-windows computer so how is it OS's fault she can't learn how to use it.
Here's my theory, they did this on purpose to make everyone hate XP so we will now flock to vista... They can even say.. hey look it's an old OS it's going to have problems like this, that's why you need to buy Vista..
Then you'll have the same problems because you moved to a new OS, which is better because it's new...
We've faced a similar issue and finally found a company (global relay) that does the archiving automatically.
In government where you have to keep email indefinitely, finding a balance between mailbox size and performance can be a challenge. We were doing the pst thing and let me tell you, not the best idea in the world but honestly with exchange there aren't a whole lot of choices with this. Even worse a pst has a 2 gig limit and with some of my users that didn't take long to hit. Add on the fact that pst's are notoriously fragile it's not that far fetched that some emails could have been lost. but all of them, well they really must have screwed up or someone found a plausible excuse...
I was just working in Ubuntu today and yes, it is getting close, but there are some big issues. One huge thing is getting a average person to understand the permissions thing. I'm a computer guy and still struggle with Unix permissions.
One thing that happened today is I went to make a change in the Firefox settings and it wouldn't bring up the preferences. Come to find out I had to run it as sudo user from the command line, do you really see grandma doing that? Do you see grandma figuring that out? Do you see grandma figuring it out and fixing it so it doesn't happen again.
Now I am writing this comment from a new mac and it could be argued that this is a variant of linux/unix. They seemed to have solved most of the average user issues with OS X, so I think perhaps Ubuntu might want to look at what apple has done and take some pointers from them. Just a thought...
Ok, looking at the total math for yesterday. Clinton got 187 delegates, Obama got 183 delegates. Thats a net gain of 4 delegates for Clinton, I wouldn't call that a big win. Matter of fact it was pretty much a tie in my book. I know she's trying to make it look like she won, but honestly she got her butt kicked in some states she should have walked away with...
%80 of the reason we don't run Linux on our desktops is MS Office, another 10% is probably IE dependent software, and the last %10 would be windows dependent software.
They test patches before we get them and they automate the deployment. You can also push out other software patches and files. It's not a perfect system but it does make life a lot easier than just using MS updates.
I had a guy call me the other day that told me after he did the update certain website stopped working. I told him to download Firefox and everything is fine... One thing we did seem to have a real problem with is Java. In that situation I'm not sure if IE7 broke it or something else but we did have to reinstall java after the IE7 update...
You got issues.. unless this is just a joke and I'm being gullible.. You're certainly giving me that few sandwiches short of a picnic basket feeling...
Yes, I screwed up a bit and voted for the wrong guy back in 2000. The in 2004 I voted the other side. I'm an independent, Generally I vote opposite of who is in power as a matter of keeping things in the middle. I think if we go right or left too far then we have problems. At the moment this country has gone way way to the right and things are getting bad. Fortunately we just made some changes and the left will be slightly more powerful and will start to swing things back.
So my reason for voting for bush was the party he was part of, what I didn't see coming was the republicans gaining too much power. Had I know that, I would have preferred a democrat in there to keep things reasonable. I like some things about democrats, and I like some things about republicans. They both have their flaws so I'm not going to go quite as far as you seem to have and claim one is perfect and the other shouldn't exist.
BTW, next time you try to make a point don't be so combative. Being rude and mean only makes the other side defensive and more likely to disagree with you simply because they don't like you.
I can't believe I voted for Bush the first time. Had I know he would willing to ignore our constitution and way of life in the name of safety, I would have never considered him. Top that off with hiring a guy like Alberto Gonzales (whom I dislike even more than Bush), I just feel like an idiot...
I'm not willing to turn this country into Nazi Germany out of fear of some guy who might come up with a creative way to kill me.
I'm 38 and have most of my real friends on the site. It's a great way to stay in touch with people you don't see often. Being older you tend to have friends spread over great distances, mostly because over the years you meet people from all over. So it would make sense that myspace would become more useful for us older people where younger people just see it as a fad and get board with it quickly.
I don't use it to meet singles, I use it to chat with friends or make general announcements. It's also an easy way to share an experiences (like a vacation) with all your friends. recently I had a friend loose her grandmother and it was a way for her to share her grief with her friends and also let the world know of an important person for her had passed away. It's a great new way to communicate and like anything it can be used for bad purposes.
As far as the pedophile thing, well that can happen at the mall just as easily as it can on myspace. the difference is are the parents doing their job monitoring what their children are doing... It's a new world, so there are new things for parents to watch for.
Lets see did I
A: suddenly appear on the whim of some magical god that has conveniently never shown his face
OR
B: Evolve over millions of years from other forms of life
I think it's
C: none of this is real and it's just a big computer simulation...
something strange must have happened because I didn't even open that story. hhmmm

am I making available? If someone takes it have I just broken the law?

I had a day, figures I find out at the end of it....
%80 of the reason we don't run Linux on our desktops is MS Office, another 10% is probably IE dependent software, and the last %10 would be windows dependent software.
The other bells are interesting but I use my phone camera a lot, so I can't see giving it up..
I already bought a Macbook and if Apple keeps doing it like this then I'll never switch back. I love the thing!

So give us a choice of an OS instead of assuming we want MS Windows
Not to mention, these days you can buy a computer and run several Linux OS's off a cd.. Why does it have to be on the hard drive?
I don't want a guy as president who can't handle a little pie in the face ;)
Seriously, there is no way I would vote for him. He would ruin the industry because he would be biased towards his own technology.
You got issues.. unless this is just a joke and I'm being gullible.. You're certainly giving me that few sandwiches short of a picnic basket feeling...
whhhooo get up on the wrong side of bed today?

Unfortunately I have to agree with you.

Is that we never see any of this in the main stream news...
