    Your description of 'Discreet structures with graph theory' sounds like things we use every day. 'Selected math chapters' sounds more useful for numerical analysis programming. If you struggle with math, numerical analysis is probably not the field for you.

    Is your argument that addiction shouldn't be treated as a medical problem or that shooting people is an actual addiction? I think there is a clear difference between an addict and a psychopath.

    Your step-father burning down the family home to pay of gambling debts implies that he owed the money to an organization other than a legitimate credit company. This implies organized crime, which exists partially due to the prohibition of gambling where your father in law gambled.

    So I would say your step-father was victim of loan sharking and you were a victim of arson.

    Addiction of all sorts needs to be treated as a medical problem, not a criminal one.

    I use a password storing program on a portable device such as a PDA or iPod touch. I use obscure passwords that I can remember with a hint that won't make sense to anyone else. I only store the hint in the encrypted storage.

    I don't care much about what business previous employers are in, unless it is very similar to mine. I care if your knowledge and experience are relevant to my business. I would also like the idea of your previous employer being very serious about reliability.

    Ok. I suggest your first task is to find a CEO with a background in a business that licenses technology.

    One quick source is angel investors in your area. A web search of "Angel Investor" or "Angel Investor Washington" will reveal a list of resources. People in finance, including bankers and CPAs, might now of some. Often there are one or more Angel Investor clubs in technology centers like Redmond.

    I suggest emphasizing that you are looking for business experience of the right type (licensing technology) rather than money. Someone that is interested in helping _and_ putting up money is a lot more valuable than someone that has money.

    I don't know anyone in the Redmond area, but I do in Portland. I'll check around.

    You need to ask yourself some questions.

    1. Do you want to grow a company of sell the idea?

    2. If you want to grow a company, do you want to run it? This probably the most important question. After being involved in several startups. I realized that I would not want to run a company after it became a "going concern".

    3. If you start a company are you willing to sell it or do you want to grow it into a public company?

    Good, honest help is a little more challenging. SCORE might be ok, but you need someone with some knowledge of technology. If you are in Silicon Valley, I can recommend people that can provide advice, contacts, possibly money. If you are not there, indicate where you are and perhaps friends of friends can help.

    Most states require that I, as a manager, offer an employee a treatment option if I suspect that a performance issue is due to a problem with alcohol. However, if they have I think it is a problem with 'illegal' drugs I can fire them right away.

    Socially we view alcohol addition as a moral weakness, but treat it as a medical problem. How about we join the modern world and do the same with all substance abuse problems?

    The f-117 isn't supersonic and it takes a computer to keep it stable. Is the B-2 supersonic? Was the US flying wing of the late 50s early sixties supersonic? I know it had stability problems. I'm not an expert, but I think stability of flyiing wing desings is a serious problem. I'm not convinced this thing would fly.

    to meeting fellow geeks? Expand your horizons. Pick activities that interest you. Join clubs that center around such activities. Sailing, hiking, rock collecting, whatever. You'll meet interesting people. Don't worry about being accepted. Bill Gates made being a geek fashionable.
