They broke it because of Global Warming... the whole world is out of whack... we need a new science... w/ proven results......results that are quantifiable... solid... not subject to "misinterpretation"... non of this crap that we've gotten so far... what has science given us already... geesh.
.... and in the long run, isn't that what the gov is supposed to do... protect the people? Since protecting the people has been the bread and butter to one US political party, I'm sure we will see this in the US sometime in the near future. I guess the term "red states" will have a double meaning.
All sarcasm aside, if it was to be implemented here whomever would tie it to "child safety", to make the kids safer. You think I am kidding? Watch what they do w/ National Health Care
They will end the call if you tell them you run linux. It was something just short of hanging up on you. "We don't support that OS... bye ". And the funny thing is that I wasn't asking for them to support the OS, I was asking them to support their networks. So when I called back I said I was running XP and gave them the information they asked for.
Why are they doing this now? I've been ripping streams for years... back when I was a kid we would rip a couple of streams a night... although the terms we used were different... "cassette deck", "record", and "radio station". Now I guess Dr. Demento will knocking down my door for royalties.
they started fios in "green zones", where there was no pre-existing copper. this gave them the work around where they didn't have to share their lines w/ other telcos. its only a logical conclusion to land lock the customer back into their territories by cutting the coper. if you are going to spend the billions in infrastructure and lines then you might as well block all others from access.
finally someone has said what has annoyed the living hell out of me for years. And I've been seeing it in multiple professional articles: remove cat. How many times to you type "cat file|grep regx" for a regex and when you can just run "grep regex file".And needless to say "awk '/regex/ {print $1}' file" works wonders as well. I think there is a good point to his article... there more than one way to skin a cat, just don't make a habit of it.
Look, BF1942 was the best thing I had ever played. BFV kind paled in comparison-- mostly because I couldn't find any decent mods for it... and frankly there weren't any good maps.
Then I went out and bought computer so I could play BF2. I litearally pulled the BF2 specs and made sure they were covered in my purchase. I am very disappointed w/ BF2. Why? Because I had to login to their servers in order to play the full game. I paid full price just so I could play part of a game. That urked me to no end! And they didn't have any good maps... unless you registered. It's only saving grace was the Modding community. They had maps, weapons... and they made the game play a lot better than what EA could do.
And now they want to spy on me when I'm not playing the game? I'm already miffed that game play sufferes when the net is down... what the J.H.C. am I supposed to do when I'm waiting on the cable guy?!?!? Now EA expects me to pay to let a third party on to my computer just so I can probably play a half of the game? No thank you!
Isn't this like an auto sales man selling you the car and then saying, "Oh, you have to drive my grandmother to work, so we can better serve you".
That's CRAP.
"Under the Home Office proposals, the courts would have almost unlimited discretion to impose the order if they believe it probable that a suspect had 'acted in a way which facilitated or was likely to facilitate the commissioning of serious crime.' "
I wish this was in the US. Given the Scooter Liby imbroglio... we could arrest journalists for doing their jobs.
Could this also mean that M$ would change their ULA such that, if you don't agree, you will be arrested for piracy?
I'm typing this on my new Dell XPS.... when I ordered it, I only ordered one. When they confirmed it, they confirmed two. After 20 minutes of trying to find the phone number to call, I finally got the second order canceled. My next computer... I'm building myself. I'd rather get bloody knuckles than have to deal with this again.
I'm finally going to buy a computer (instead of building one) and it's a toss up between an iMac and a Dell. The sole reason for the Dell is to play games, that is all. If I could merge the two together, then I would get a Mac. They have everything I want in a computer, I just don't need two.
...that I no longer work for the VZ mail team. And I can say, without a doubt that I'm VERY happy that I don't sit next to the Spam Cop... I know he reads/. and he would be VERY pissy for the next week or so.
I may be burried in work, but at least I'm not burried in public ire.

Hello... I am LULZ addict and it is because of you and this program that I am here.

Great... now we get to live, or die, just like the movie "The Quiet Earth".
I swear I saw a video from the 90's where Sun was saying this was the future of the desktop.
and to make matters more entertaining... we're also getting more layoffs next month.

Because when you ask Ms. Dewey a question about Linux Downloads she gives you crap about pirating MP3's.

China is sounding more appealing... at least they have jobs.
