It is only implying that Solaris has a battle-hardened networking stack and is free also. Linux is a great kernel, but Solaris has a longer track record in the industry. Linux has come a long way fast, if Solaris was to GPL I think that both Linux and Solaris would benefit.
Anything that comes from Microsoft is now Irrelevant. They are now behind the times, and are relying on their soon to be obsolete dominance to push things that are already out there: look at Zune and Windows Leopard, I mean Vista...lol. They should change their names to Copy$oft.
I will give credit to the Xbox, but that wasn't new either it is a copy of unmentioned consoles.
No, just a simple Quad G5 would do the trick. This way you wouldn't have to deal with Dell or Alienware's horrible support. You would have the equivalent of two Xbox 360s, and a much better OS.
I am not trolling in this area because I have experienced both Alienware and Dell support. I would have to admit that Apple's support is better but they still have flaws.
I updated from Panther(10.3) to Tiger(10.4) and my machine seemed slower. I decided to do a fresh install, and things improved, as always the fresh install is better than an update.
I still think that Panther was running a bit faster tahn Tiger, maybe it is the widgets.......... silly widgets!
How much more secure can you get when you can actually view the source code. With proprietary code you are not certain that the system you are running is actually behaving the way it should.

"Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer" I think that is the way it goes.

This was all done on a PowerBook G4(TiBook).
I recently purchased 3.7 and now I just might purchase 3.8 for shits and giggles!
Looks like Microsoft (IE) will have to play catch up again. You will soon here this amazing new technology in Vista, or not so new.......
I think the Sysadmin had allot on his plate setting a goal like that. But it is a possible and probable goal to attempt and well worth it.
They get angry over a cartoon but when they burn an American Flag it is OK.
Go figure.
