to be honest I am not a developer so I dont recall the exact issue, But it was an issue that caused mysql to get hosed, which is one of the database options for our back end, if any other mysql admins can recall that period in time they might be able to shed a little more light on the situation
the major clients all have test environments, and there were only a few actually infected systems due to the fact that we tested it and sent a blast out, but the point is still that to the customers who do autoupdates (dentists, lawyers, other "low level" clients) they were hosed for a few days because of an issue that had nothing to do with us. I get your point, and you are correct, but the point I was making was that things outside of a company can cause issues for software, test envionment or not.
This happened for a company I once worked for. Microsoft released a windows update to.net back around 2010 that totally bricked our, DOD certified, mission critical systems. (mostly medical, not military) If a backup of the database was run after this.net update, the users would not be able to login to the system. This was accross the board, affected every single system that is out there (10s of thousands)
nothing that we did was wrong, simply an update of an outside, yet needed (well, not really but you know what I mean) took our entire dev team 3 days to make a fix, thankfully only a few of our major clients were affected.
point being, unless you code everything yourself from binary, you can not depend on no bug ever creeping into play
do you understand that people create these designer drugs for the sole reason to be legal? IF the alternatives that have existed legally for thousands of years were available, I would wager drugs such as that one would never have even been created. I may be wrong, but there would be no need to create these synthetic drugs that are horrible for everyone
you are correct, But a simply heads up like "hey, we really like your town, we like it so much in fact we are going to replicate it in our country" would have been good enough. I personally dont care or have any issue with it, a builder can build what it wants, where it wants, but a heads up would be nice is all im saying
We can say the crash had something to do with it, but he was still "off" prior to the crash. Did the crash make it worse? arguably yes, but truthfully we can never be sure, Even if you would like to negate him, there are many many more great minds that will fit my argument., some were posted below
And what If I am hiding my nuke (it is known to be there, not just thought to be there for this hypothetical) in the hospital knowing you wont attack said hospital? is it ok to attack it than?
Many people hide things in civilian zones for the very reasons that they know that in general, we wont attack said zones.
Think about it, if you know that the countryt attacking you says some zone is off limits, where are you going to stash your most valuable intel/people/ammo etc?
Many great minds are called "eccentric" but when we break down what that REALLY is, usually it is some kind of disorder, Howard hughes comes to mind, a very very smart man by any account, but he was batshit crazy when it came to some things, You could make the argument that steve jobs was slighty off balenced, and Many other great minds over the years have had some form of mental disorder, usually something autistic.

second of all, if the XXX was killed naturally, than personally I dont care. Its dead, If the owner of the cat allowed it, or if it was a wild animal and was roadkill, or a human who gave consent to be done up that way. something that is dead, is dead. and unless someone personally knew said organism, and knows said organism did not want YYY to happen to them, no one should be bitching
On a side note, I wonder how many people who have no problem with the feces and piss religious "art" are in an uproar about this because its a cute fuzzy animal.....
as long as the human wasnt killed fore the sake of the "art" than no, it is no different, It would also be no different than the museum in NYC that has many human bodies on display in different stages of "being mutilated".....in the name of science that is
im 27 years old as of sunday, And I HATE first person shooters, I mush prefer loading up an emulatator and playing some NES SGA SNES glory games over 95% of the stuff put out on all the consoles/PC (diable 3, other than HAVING to be online to play a single player game..... is pretty awesome

the wii has been dead for 2 years now, By what metric? I have bought more games for the wii in the past 2 years than I have since release combine, and I know of many others who are the same. Besides that the wii was sold at a profit from day one, while the others were sold at a loss, somewhat large I might add. Just because sales are down in the past 2 years, that has the potential to say a few different things. One, that the hardware is better than the other hardware. How many people do you know that have replaced the xboxes 1,2, even more times? now how many wiis have been replaced? Personally our family has gone through 5 360s and 2 PS3s and we are still on our release day wii. Also the wii has been on the market longer, there are so many people to sell a wii to. once they have them, and they dont break as often as other consoles, there arent that many reasons to buy a new one now are there????

sega may have had slightly better grafix, but as for controller design, the SNES was superior to the genisis
