you dont explain it as that, you explain it as it is the logical way. If i lose my data, its faster to simply restore my data and vice versa. Obviously you dont explain that you want seperate backups in the case of a divorce..

Simple solution here is to have separate backup files of separate data. How hard is it to set the routine to make a backup of "robs documents" and another of "debs documents"?

sounds like a good coput to me. How convenient that it was a "rogue employee" that just happened to raise the prices of a singer who died only 30 minutes earlier... im sorry, I simply dont believe it. If it was someone other than sony, I MIGHT believe it, but coming from sony, after the past mistakes, I simply cannot believe that excuse. They got called out for doing something dickish, and they are tyring to save face.

plus we are talking digital downloads, there is infinite demand, I would probably be ok with them raising the price of the packaged media, But the digital downloads???

Profiling is only bad because we have convinced everyone that is so, Israel profiles at their airports, cops profile in the streets, employeers profile prospective employees, Profiling is a tool that can be used, or abused. If someone kidnaps my kid and im told it is a white male of medium build with a beard, I dont want the cops stopping petite teenage girls to see if it was them.

I can remember in the early 90s at the big chain stores they would all be running demo software where the keyboard didnt work unless you knew the magic code... what was it? ctrl.alt.del and the machines were never password protected. So much fun setting up screen savers to mess with them.

But if its a droid based tablet root with titanium backup you can remove most all programs from the device except those you want.

I agree with this as well. sometime around 2001 I was working with a fairly big niche website, maybe around 25000 users 2500 regular users. and they not only transfered ownership of the site but they changed the name of the site as well. What we ended up doing was buying the new domain and setting up the new site with new logos etc than we simply put a redirect up on the old domain, left it for about 6 months before the traffic to the old domain was pretty much zero and the new domain was flourishing.

Fast forward to around 2008, A turn based web game community I was an administrator for sold out a portion of the community to zynga, thescum of the gaming world. He decided that with a portion of the community gone that it would be good to change the name of the rest of the portion he maintained. He proceeded to change the forum, the 4 different domains and put them all on one domain where before it was a little cluster. Overnight he did this, he killed the original links to everything but the forum. Traffic declined 65% in that first week and it never recovered.
