That sounds great. Last I heard the US was not Utopia though. US (and other countries companies) will continue to attempt extracting water from stone and pushing the limits of what they can get away with. As my boss said to me once: "Don't worry what's 'right', this is the way it's done.

Despite this I agree with you; I am becoming a cynic as I age. Although, depsite being a cynic, I can still *personally* choose to choose right from wrong.

Is that what Vista does (abstract the drivers even more and create an extra layer between the OS and kernel?) The OS should do the abstractation between itself and the hardware... any additional layers (your example, not allowing the drivers to access the kernel) doesn't make sense. There is no need for this additional layer; maybe this is why Vista has failed--they tried to make an OS that looks great on paper but in the real world is horrible. Sure, the OS should restrict and monitor kernal calls, but distancing itself from reality helps nobody.

The only thing that I can think of is that it's an odd way of enforced beta testing (i.e. idle is a place where the /. people are testing new ideas and they need as many eyes as possible).

For me, the games that have astounded me (in order of my seeing them and being suitably impressed) are HL2, F.E.A.R. and CoD4. HL2 was for me the first semi-realistic fps. F.E.A.R showed me what a game engine can do, and had great "startle-factor". CoD4 showed me what a game engine combined with good gameplay and replay value can do (it's the first game I've _wanted_ to play more than once in single player, although it's a bit short).

The point I am trying to make is that if the mass of the black hole can be infinite (it keeps collecting mass...), wouldn't that also mean that as the mass of the black hole approaches infinity that the speed of stuff being accelerated towards it also increases. And, if the mass of the black hole is approaching infinity, can the speed of the stuff being dragged in approach the speed of light?
