Am in Belgium, there's less content with Flemmish/Dutch options (60% of population, generally better off financially) than French, and in many cases there's French as the only subtitles - for some reason, they don't offer English subtitles on a lot of content, despite Brussels being capitol of Europe and NATO+UN offices (LOTS of foreigners)
That will remove a greatly competitive feature of Uber. That's gonna jack up the prices by 15%.
Let's not forget: driving for Uber is 100% volunteer.
Odd, I'd think it would go the other way - Uber would assume drivers in NYC are being tipped, and therefore reduce their pay and consequently fare.... OK, it's Uber, they'd prolly not reduce the fare, but the pay? hell yes.
Computers don’t have to be perfect, just better than people to be useful.
Humans in general are unable to process this concept - it's better to have humans do 100s of errors, than a computer do 1-2 error, especially when the errors result in loss of limbs or life.
In some instances it's cheaper to buy 2-3 tickets and only use the one you buy and let the others drop, compared to buying flexible tickets. In other cases, stuff comes up last minute, and you cannot make your scheduled departure - think everything from traffic, to customer requests, to partner asking you to stay a few more days.
There's ample reasons for not showing up, you just need to travel more often, and more on customer's bill:)
Except for buying the most expensive tickets, there's no option to buy a ticket where you won't be "voluntold" to leave the seat you're already in. (when electing whose face to "re-accommodate", they give preferential treatment to business class customers)
Uber may be a crappy company but the concept is sound. Having and easy, cheep, reliable way to call a ride in the city makes it a lot less likely that someone is going to drive to someplace they might want to drink (or to someplace where parking is difficult).
Please explain how it's notably easier thank hitting the dial button, type "taxi" (if even that much), hit dial again, and then tell someone on the other end where you are...
Heck, in the past, lift phone, hit a single button, wait 5-8 seconds, hang up, have taxi ready and waiting outside in ca 5 minutes.
It would have been nice if they had made the release date, but I'd rather play with a bug-free ArcaOS release than one where the installer fails midway or similar..
Failing during install is pretty much what I remember the most about OS/2.
I'm am absolutely not a Democrat- but I will paint this vote the only way I can possibly see it being painted. This was a purely partisan issue. This was cutting the nose off to spite the face. This measure was brought in by a Democrat president so it was removed purely to be contrary and partisan.
Based on my impressions of US politics, as an outsider, the above is a core part of the Republican political platform.
Not voting also expresses an opinion, even if it's a lack of opinion or lack of attention or care or anything else. Those that did not go to a polling station simply voted to follow whatever everyone else decided.
Seem to recall articles here on/. about Google's reviewers having to look at so much shit, they basically broke down mentally within a year - ignoring the human costs, that's a very large turn-over if you need to hire and train 20.000 new people yearly.
Was about to say something about SMSes costing money, but remembered that effectively-free SMSes (10s of thousands per month included in subscriptions) was a thing already at the turn of the millennium:)
da funk? My CPU load in FF just dropped to below 104%
This was prolly the first one that got me to sit up and take notice, excellent movie!
Are the disc-services even available outside of the US?!?

And if we show you a list of 1 million companies started by people in their 20's and which lasted less than 3 years?
Hint: The word "Odds" refer to statistics, not absolutes #Lern2English
Kids get accustomed to physical abuse :/
Wonder if there is abstinence porn anywhere?
Wasn't that the whole idea behind those sparkly vampires in those books/movies
back in the 80's it was in fashion here in Denmark to serve a few potato chips on the plate along with gravy and a slice of some sort of roast.
....still doing this every Jul :)
#CalExit and then immediately join Mexico - done.

Only when sold to 3rd world countries.
Sorry, you are correct. Thanks for the correction. I am terrible at reading maps in Russian.
That's OK - Even Russian military have repeatedly failed to read their own maps, and accidentally wandered into Ukraine.
Even back then, PCs were shite :)
Meanwhile, my C= Amigas ran nicely and always did what I wanted them to do :p

Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
....found the American!
Not surprising - to most people on this planet, being called an American is likely an insult.

Which is why it's imperative for Scotland to secede from the UK before the actual "Brexit", so they can claim to already be a member.
