Copyright notices, EULAs, DRM engines, w98 & XP for retrocompatibility... and a pr0n video of Ballmer and a chair. 6 hours, HD, Harcore. The mother of the easter eggs.
I'm in the process of installing a 4kw grid of solar panels on my own roof for a cost (after subsidies/rebates) of $17k, so $4.25 / watt. For greener energy, I think the premium is worth it.
$4.25/Watt-peak, not Watt. It's not the same.
Also, the Nuke power plant gives 1.2gW constant. Day and night. Sunny or rainy.
We actively change our environment to our benefit. We light the night, warm our houses, deforest our countries, mine our resources...
The argument of "it's natural" is stupid. If it's natural, modify nature. We are constantly doing it.
Why? Because this change does NOT benefit us.
So, nature doesn't want to change (or we don't know how to coerce her)?
Well, at least don't help the change!
create a highly radioactive waste that can take millennia to decompose.
Bullshit. You have nuclear waste highly radioactive, or cold waste which take millennia to decompose.
In fact, the nuclear waste can be recycled into fissible material, hot subproducts (very appreciated by the pharmaceutic industry), and cold waste which take millennia to decompose.
P2P is fair use. No, it isn't. Especially in Britain, where the concept of fair use is much more restricted than in the USA (which *IS* an actual problem with the british system). But, don't worry - your 1.5 tb of movies and music isn't fair use ANYWHERE.
Wrong
In Spain, the non-comercial copy of copyrighted media is fair use. Search "private copy" ("Copia Privada" in Spanish) for more information.
Try using a modified driver to record the audio or video output. Or try to watch a HD movie in your capable-but-not-certified TFT. Or just compare the performance of any given GPU in XP vs Vista. The poor performance in Vista can give you a clue where the problem is.
Your name is personal data, but not private.
Your phone number is personal data, but not private.
Your Address is personal data, but not private.
And of course, your IP is not private... but is part of your personal data.
Maybe in USA there is no difference between private and personal data, but in EU there's a big difference: nobody can NOT store your personal data without warning you and giving methods to correct AND ERASE your data.

Not quite a good comparison.

Let's hope they nail it for Windows 28... or Windows 496... or 8128...

That's curious. In Europe, sanitary alcohol is 96% ethanol, with some aditive to make it very unpalatable. Edible, if your liver stands it.
Don't need to restrict to a region. In all Spain is the same.

Well, the thing is, in spain is legal download music. We're being extorted with a private tax (the 'canon') for the concept of 'private copy'.
When you buy recordable CDs you pay that 'canon' (which is more expensive than the CD). That way, you are free to have private copies of records.
The record industry associations have tested the legality of download music, and have lost. So they are testing new ways of being an asshole.
In Europe (or at least in Spain) you have to present a WORKING PROTOTYPE of the thing you want to patent to have it granted.
Voila: no more patent trolls!

Just do it!
I'm sure there's some porn related around. Let me google it...
Why not both?
The scene here is you as a company with a product that cost X, and other company ofers you X+5 for an EXCLUSIVE deal.
So, the other companies sue you because you and your exclusive contract are limiting the consumer choices.
Ok, the problem here is as follows:

1- Bob downloads the games in Live.
2- Alice has a 360 and want that games.
3- Bob clones his HD over Alice's.
4- Ban for both over Live.
And no, there's no profit.
