If these planets are tidally locked wouldn't that kill the dynamo process that produces a planets magnetic field? If that magnetic field is gone wouldn't they suffer the same fate as Mars and lose their atmosphere to the solar wind?

Because the number will change every minute or so. Just like the FOB from paypal. Basically what they are doing is taking that FOB with the LCD and changing the form factor to be a credit card (complete with mag stripe). Someone could steal your CVV or trick you into giving it to them. That becomes a lot more difficult with these one time passwords when the number changes all the time.

  16. Apples and Oranges on VMware "Miles Ahead" of Microsoft Virtual Server · · Score: 1, Informative
This isn't really a fair comparison. VMWare ESX Server runs on bare metal - it is the base OS. Virtual Server has to run on top of an existing operating system like XP or Win2003 Server. The problem with the MS approach is that you're constantly having to drop the host operating system to load patches or reboot (just like every other windows machine on the planet).

So yeah, if you want an enterprise class virtualization solution you SHOULD be running VMWare. Things should be interesting in a year or two when M$ releases their bare metal virtualization engine. I believe the code name at the moment is viridian.
