  1. Re:That's fair on New Science Standards Approved in Florida · · Score: 1

Things falling to the ground is a fact; one explanation for it is Newton's theory of gravitation, also called gravity. Hey,hey, hey you need to be a little more sensitive towards other's beliefs on this matter. Personally, I would rather go the way of dogmatic belief. Hence, I prefer calling it "The Force" but thats just me.

4 bars on the moon?! somehow, I know I'm getting screwed when I would get better service on the moon than I would at my house.

  3. Re:Smart on Microsoft to Give Away Developer Tools to Students · · Score: 2, Interesting

It might be "like crack", but its what the big boys are using. There should have been peer pressure to use more MS products a long time ago in education. I know I'm asking for a -75 troll mod by saying this. However, coming from my own personal experience, we didn't touch any .net back in school, and now, i'm out in the "real" world and everywhere I look is MS (for the most part).

Actually - I think the two universal reasons why it didn't fail. Blockbuster and Playstation 3. I'm not really sure other than that because from what I've seen the hardware has been much more expensive.

yeah exactly... its called beta testing. Where you literally give it out to people and say this might not work... and if it doesnt tell us and we'll fix it.

They actually DO beta test their software, right??????????

Actually, we probably have evidence of this already since White House staffers like Karl Rove have been circumventing official record keeping by using Republican National Committee email accounts for official business. Amazing So? I use my gmail account all the time at work.
  11. Re:F*ck Yahoo! on Yahoo Seeking Partnership With News Corp. · · Score: 1

They were bought out by Yahoo! and subsequently had to replace the lyrics query that went to the open LyricWiki with Y!Music, which hardly contains any lyrics to the songs I listen to. Maybe it's just Yahoo!s what of telling you to listen to better music.
  12. Re:Just what the world needs on Yahoo Seeking Partnership With News Corp. · · Score: 1

A news corporation is a business above all else. They ask themselves "What sells?". Regardless of what you think, you dont become one of the lsrgest aggregators of news by mistake. I think you should be less concerned with who's selling it, and be more concerned with who's buying it.

I've often wondered what aliens might think if they were to visit earth and see us shooting missles at our own satellites as means of getting them down. On one side of the coin, we might look really badass.

  15. Joystick fell into a niche on Whatever Happened To The Joystick? · · Score: 1

I think the joystick fell into a niche. I mean its obviously still around for flight simulation games to increase the realism there, but it isn't very realistic when playing most games. Honestly, there's about 3 successful flight simulation franchises floating around now, and one of them is made by MS... so take your pick there.

  16. Re:FAIL! on Animated Film Set To Kick Off Star Wars TV Show · · Score: 1

Ticket sales clearly don't reflect your opinion. There's certaintly more money to be made from this franchise. I secretly always hoped they did the trilogy after the first three movies (or the last three depending on what order you're considering). Episodes 7,8,9 have been written into books, but I dont know if theres any plan to do anything with those.

  21. Devil's Advocate on US Group Calls Canada a Top Copyright Violator · · Score: 1

While I don't agree with what they're doing, I can see their point of view. It's not that they think that Canada should adopt the US copyright laws or be bound by them. They are purely protecting the interests of copyright holders. Think of it this way: A large majority of music and movies are produced in the United States. That means it's an export to all other countries. I'm trying to think of an equivalent product where it might make sense if the situation was reversed, but I find entertainment to be far too unique. Bottom line - don't agree, but I can at least see what they're getting at.

  22. Hardware on Microsoft Had Doubts About the 'Vista Capable' Label · · Score: 0

Last time I check, Microsoft doesn't really make hardware. Saying a machine is "Vista Capable" is like saying "Hey, it should run on that hardware". So why aren't there lawsuits against companies like Dell and HP?

Constantly I see games that are visually appealing receiving glowing reviews, but if you want to know what the best game in the history of console gaming is, odds are its on NES. My guess would be Mario. Horrible graphics, bad storyline, greatest game ever. Even today, I can still sit there and play these games and find them very entertaining. Sometimes simplicity isn't such a bad thing.
