Well today is the day. Ever hear of a golf cart? It's a all electric vehicle and you can get it for well under $10,000. Heck you could by 2 for that price used.
a 1967 camaro cost a little over $3000 fully loaded. The base price on a new camaro is $22,680. I understand inflation, but cars are far from electronic gadgets and PC parts that constantly go down in price for new items becuase of lack of demand for the less technological parts. Cars using in a utilitarian environment always hold a value that is greater then a technology that might be obsolete in some markets as soon as a year.
To put it simple you can't compare cars to computer parts unless cars doubled in fuel mileage every 12 months. Not going to happen even with all electric cars because battery technology just doesn't move that fast. That's just a fact.
So does this electricity come from the magic electric fairy?
Last time I checked we do not get all our electricity from solar and even at that petroleum is need still in the manufacture of many part of cars and even in producing components for solar production. Truly free? Does that just mean not supporting or buying products from what ever corporation you find evil?
What does this say then about all the measures taken so far to quell the onset of global warming? If it has just gotten warmer with all the emissions controls, then is it just egotistical to think that what we change has any effect (at least in the US)?
Interesting that we never see any studies of the effectiveness of such unconstitutional laws and the cost of FBI and other law enforcement agencies infringing on our rights. It's like the US air marshal program and the cost associated with it. $200 million per arrest @ 4 per year hardly seem effective nor cost worthy and probably hasn't made anyone safer, never mind the conviction rate that's enough to make you sick.
Also I would be a little hesitant to buy a new technology car from a company that has had as many quality issues as Nissan has had in the passed 3 or so years. They were rated most problematic last year or the year before. Maybe there is a reason the Leaf is on the cheap?
So by recent you mean 10 years? Check out Europe and what they have done with Diesel to clean it up.
Love the thrown in "it causes cancer" debate. The risk in people that WORK with diesel was shown to be a small increased risk, much akin to many other "potential" things in life that might increase ones risk of cancer, like lets say sitting on a battery while driving perhaps?
Love it when a person argument breaks down to "but it might make you sick".
I would hardly call the leaf cheap considering you are getting little more then a over priced compact for the price. The fusion hybrid, while not total EV, gets better then average mileage, has a longer range, doesn't drive like a over-sized golf cart and is quite nice interior wise. I also think you are out in left field with the Volt. For what it is, the price and luxury are better then you seem to want to admit.
Really, the gap between a model s and a leaf is about like a grand canyon in the car buying market. I think it's safe to say we have many more segments of car buyers other then "on the cheap" or "extravagant luxury". That's like saying we only need 500 sq. ft. homes and 25,000 sq ft homes, nothing in between.
I don't think people who have jailbroken their iphone really care if it is legal or not. They just want the functionality that apple won't give them till the next pay-for-OS upgrade or next iphone model. Legality? Who gives a shit?
I can't believe gamers are unhappy being charged upwards of $50 a game and having to pay for every little add-on that used to be free or handled by a modding community that did it for enjoyment. No the companies have to lock down their software and lose a part of what made certain series of games sell, at least on the PC side, the modding. Who would have thought the console would wreak gaming on a PC too.
That's what hit me. It's like a after thought thrown in because someone told them they have their own spam filters in place, which could possible cover many many more big corporations then just Penney's.
I'm with AT&T (and an iPhone). They have good service in my area
I agree with you on this point. AT&T has good coverage in my area and when I travel to the northern parts of the state. Something I couldn't say for Verizon that has some of the worst coverage in northern Michigan that I have ever seen. Even the smaller cell providers are better in the northern 2/3 of the state.
You mean as opposed to the massive amount of young left that think The Daily Show is a creditable news source and get all their news from it and think Jon Stewart, a comedian, is somehow on level with real news reporters?
Yeah, I think it's safe to say that there is a equal amount of stupidity on both sides of the isle. Still makes me wonder why anyone would align themselves with either party unless they are running for office and even then I would question their motives if they didn't look in to running as a independent.
People like William Cooper warned many of the misdoings of government yet was shrugged by many as a waco. Funny that most of what he said came to pass, yet the majority still do not want to believe even the smallest of conspiracies. It seems to be a false hope people want to cling too that our government wouldn't really subvert the will and justice of the people for their own gain regardless of instance after instance that proves such.
Strange that no press has been given to the updating to iOS4 resulting in many 3g, 3gs and touch owners losing functionality of the apple supplied head set and it's controls. It's happened on my 3gs and a friends, not to mention 2 others I know with iPod touches.
Its the same way with doctors and civil engineers. I'll take my bypass (both heart and highway) from the guy who was to busy getting shit done to get board certified.
Well as long as he slept at a holiday inn last night of course!

Terrorists indeed!

Bounty, It's the quicker picker-upper!
When can I expect my check?
Superintendent Larrie Reynolds sounds like a "D" bag.
For starters, only a D-bag would spell LARRY that way!

Obviously you do not play fantasy sports sir!!!
The old Wizard of Oz ploy. "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, only to the flashy image in front of you". In this case boobs!
In other shocking news, the sky is blue, water is wet, ice is cold and fire is hot.

Well it didn't help that he also included Keyboard Cat in the back ground.
"She said they were likely to become depressed or angry, have trouble forming relationships and suffer from decreased sexual appetites."
So it has similar effects as playing world of warcraft?
Yeah because military backgrounds are always the cleanest and most well checked.
