  1. Wouldn't a better focus be on Samsung's Solid-State Disk Drive Unveiled · · Score: 1

Wouldn't a better focus be on battery backed up RAM drives instead? Like those PCI DDR ram drives that cost a bundle. It would be nice to get a blazing fast PC3200 1GB RAM-Drive for $100.. which would be multiple times faster than these drives.

  2. Hmm? on Do Next-Gen Games Have to be 3D? · · Score: 1

First, the only Zelda game I can remember with any side-scrolling elements was Zelda-2 for NES.

Now my opinion, one of my favorite game series of all time (Mega Man / X) was 2D. I would love to see another version in the future, though I doubt it would live up to some of the best games of the series (My fav being MMX2)

I do think 2D graphics are basically up to indie developers now though as there is basically too much hype behind 3D. The consumer market would probably almost immediately reject it just because of the fact. Though I can think of one amazing recent game, Super Smash Brothers: Melee that is 2D...

I would think it would be the exact opposite. In the last 25 years the cost of audio production equipment, cd presses (well equivelant to mainstream of yester-year) and printing presses (for inserts) have advanced dramatically and gone wait down in price. I think its about time artists begin recording their own music or grouping together for recordings then paying the labels a small cut for mass reproduction of their music...

  9. Re:Says a lot.. on EarthLink Is Losing a Lot of Email · · Score: 0

Except in the summary is actually said 1-2 messages got through in some cases. 1 in 10 is 9/10 missing. So at least in one case it was literally 9 out of 10 times. Stop being a douche.

If 1-2 out of 10 are getting through it would be more accurate to say "as many as 9 and as few 8 as out of 10" or "80-90%". "literally 9 out of 10 times" is completely different than up to 9 out of 10. If they meant 9 out of 10 they could have excluded the "up to"

    etc. etc.

I hate how media always puts a spin on everything to make it look extremely terrible / extremely good. Up to 9 out of 10 times anything happens something else could happen as zero is a valid value of "up to 9".

Even the best high-end media PC is useless without proper graphics drivers. There's no sign that nvidia puts out some drivers for the RSX in the PS3, yet.

Thats a really good point. Sony supporting PS3 could push nvidia to develop drivers for it which might wind up benefiting even us non-ps3 linux users.

$600 isnt a bad price for a high end media PC.

Plus it can play games and bluray media.

Parent really deserves to be modded up for that insightful comment.

Also, I'm not siding with the sex offenders but comon. Either they are guilty enough to still be in jail or they should be allowed to use internet communication websites freely. Maybe instead of banning sex offenders we should ban or force monitoring on minors that use those services. Some other kind of limitation would work the same too.

If they served their time they should be free. If they should not be free there is a problem with sentencing of the criminals and not how websites are monitored.

I think it could have huge potential for apple. Especially if they can get some deals with major producers to create games for whatever their system is. Something like that could bring more games to the mac and possibly open even more developers eyes to the mac gaming market....

Then theres their new 65nm proccess with much less power drawing parts. After notebooks start coming with flashmedia for most hard drive duties we should start to see smaller screens and ultra low power notebooks that last as long as cell phones when in use.
