A full stop is used after some abbreviations. If the abbreviation is ending a declaratory sentence an additional full stop is not needed (e.g. My name is Phil Simpson, Jr.)
The DVR experience of being able to pause, rewind, etc, has become so integral to my TV watching that it has bled over into other parts of my life where content is perhaps not fully registered on first "viewing".
I often find myself reaching toward my car stereo to rewind something I missed.
A lot of people touch doorknobs and stairway hand rails too, but nobody ever seems to complain about them.
Reminds me of a building I used to work in.. They had biometric palm sensors on the main doors for security. They got rid of them because people claimed that they were spreading colds, etc. But right after using the palm sensor, you had to grab a handle on the door to open it...
That's a ridiculous argument. If a kid is going to bully someone into bidding on an eBay item, they're just as likely to bully them for any other reason. Bullies actually existed long before eBay.
How is the day most important? For example, you come across an article on the web, and you want to know when it was written. The first thing I'm going to look at is the year. I guess it depends on the situation, but I see the order of significance as year, month, then day.
That's only clear if you're familiar with the standard. If I saw that format anywhere, I wouldn't know if the year is 2002 or 2006. 02Aug2006 would make more sense to me.
Is it really that hard for a would-be mugger or a homeless person to get their hands on a grocery store discount card? Doesn't sound like a very good deterrent to me.
Appendix G page 997-998
The entries for the two deleted text annotations are marked as free and as
having generation numbers of 1, which are used for any objects that reuse these
cross-reference entries. Keep in mind that, although the two objects have been
deleted, they are still present in the file. It is the cross-reference table that
records the fact that they have been deleted.
The Prev entry in the trailer has again been updated so that it points to the crossreference section added at the previous stage, and the startxref value points to the
newly added cross-reference section.
I'm not positive, but I think I read that making revisions to a pdf document (at least using Acrobat) doesn't actually remove the data from the file. It appends the changes to the end of the file, then updates the xref section to point to the new objects.
"I would like to tell you how easy it was to install and how much fun I've had using Vista Beta 2 over the past few days"
"...Vista seems to work well."
"...a competent operating system"
"Vista's new features... finely tuned... high-performance... "
ctrl-left-click will open a link in a new tab behind the current tab - nice when you're reading an article and want to read certain links later.
If you have bookmarks grouped in folders, the sub menu for that folder will have an option "open in tabs" which will open all bookmarks in that group in seperate tabs.
If they do remove them, now you'll just notice the absence of wires. :)
One NOT gate ought to be enough for anyone.

I wish my IT department would apply this logic to the use of Lotus Notes and email.

My house is going to have a big rolling doughnut! And a snake wearing a vest..
In highschool, my sister was friends with a girl whose father was "Dr. De Ath"

I just checked the PDF reference v5:

It would seem to me that you didn't feel the breeze from the obvious sarcasm flying over your head
