How long can the ssid be? Could you put enough info in there to allow a walk-up to get the WEP key? Maybe something like (using my domain as an example) "pdraporg-free-askme". Anyone who wanted to use that node would have to send you an e-mail to get the WEP key. It's not exactly wide open, but it's not a closed node either.
Maybe the warchalking people could set up a shorthand for the SSID for that purpose.
Just saw a report on the TV news. The scam is Nigeria's 3rd largest industry. Every month, hundreds of people with more dollars than sense report that they've been defrauded.
Don't be a cheapskate. It's a fact that there's no such thing as a bonus that is too big, but you can definitely make a bonus too small.
What do your employees make on average? A 10% bonus is no big deal, and if your employees make $60K a year, then that would be 6 grand. After taxes, they'll get 3 grand.
$3000 will get them a very nice laptop computer. Someone could put some carpet into their house, or some tile on their floor. They could take a trip to Europe on that amount.
Put the money into terms of something they could actually buy, and you'll see that a week-long trip to Europe is an entirely appropriate way to reward an employee who worked very hard for a year, and helped to make your personal dream - YOUR OWN SUCCESSFUL COMPANY - come true.
There's some equipment you might need when you catch up with him. For example, this might be useful. And to load him up, you might need one of these. Of course, to be truly prepared, make sure you have access to plenty of these and some of this.
PD: I got this joke, it goes "Waiter, there's a fly in my soup!"
Jahf: Criminy, I know you think you're funny, but I ate some soup this morning, and I can tell you it's not working.
The Chorus: Oh!, Woe to the human race, the gods have not been kind to men. Their lives are so short! And so miserable! Look. One of them makes a joke. But, another has recognised a fragmentary semblance of his life in the jest, and declares it in bad taste. How sad, how pathetic, the gods have even withdrawn the grace of humor from the lives of men.
1) Most people don't need robust. When my mail goes down, everyone just queues it up for me until I fix the problem. It's never my server, it's always the Linksys router or the DSL modem crashing.
2) Cheap. It's the cheapest solution that I could find that meets my needs. It's hard to find someone who will provide a service where the server is located in my bedroom. I pay $65 a month for the ability to open that server up in my own bedroom, at 3 AM, naked. Do you know of another provider with the same access? And if they won't allow naked, will they allow smoking in the server room?
See, some requirements are, ummm, unusual. This is what geeks want from their hosting provider.
I have SBC/Yahoo DSL ($65/month). Used to have DirectTV DSL ($49/month). I would still have DTV DSL, but they are out of the business.
So, my SBC DSL account gets me 5 static IP's (I use just one), about 1 megabit down, 128Kbits up, and no blocked ports whatsoever. They don't care what services you run on the line.
I have my own web server (www.pdrap.org), my own e-mail server, and anything else that I want to have.
I can add domains through virtual hosting, or I could make use of the other 4 static IP addresses that I have.
The static accounts do NOT use that PPoE that their dynamic accounts use. My static account does not require a login - it's plain old ethernet coming out of the DSL modem.
Add on top of that that the rudimentary implementation of inheritance works backwards. The most general classes of law (federal) override the subclasses (local law).
And there's redundant operator overloading, because of backwards compatibility to the time when French was the fashionable programming language for English court implementations. i.e. "cease and desist", "breaking and entering"
Yes, this will be enough. There's probably enough addresses to assign one to every atom in the solar system. Certainly, every letter in every book ever printed could have its own address. Probably every letter could have millions of addresses. More than enough.
As the number gets bigger, the pencil gets harder. I'm sure there's a joke there somewhere. The point is that you would buy a +9e62 pencil if you wanted a really hard one, er hard diamond. Damn why is it so hard, er, difficult to talk about carbon?
Right, but the important difference is that Joe and Judy factory worker residing in Peoria IL can understand how the current system can be hacked if you explained it to them. And if they understand, they might care enough to help do something about it.
But they won't understand a weird crypto attack, or a deficiency in a software testing/verification/certification process, so they are less likely to care.
But, we're all security aware people here. The weakest link is not the voting system, it's the voters. Less than half vote, which means that most Americans don't believe in democracy. They've determined that it doesn't work for them, and they've given up on it. It doesn't matter what kind of voting happens, because Americans have defaulted to a non-democratic country.
It has been determined that gun ownership is incompatible with the shift key. Take your pick: shift key, or guns. You can't have both at once. It's for your own good.
That's a good tip, not dressing up in a suit so that you impress and intimidate a CEO.
But, I am wondering if just not taking a bath will give me the aura of a foreign dignitary? I like wearing suits, and don't get to dress up that often.

I'm getting these ridiculous numbers from past percentages of bonuses that I have received.
And no, when I was working 60+ hours a week, a 10% bonus wasn't what I would consider greedy.
And so what if it was?
Isn't Microsoft the company that's trying to encapsulate object access on port 80? SOAP? What firewall will block that?
And what are home users supposed to do? Block off their e-mail ports so they can't get mail? That'll stop viruses for sure.
Remember, conservatives are so dumb that they think Dan Quayle is smart.

Set up Lilo with two targets: Linux and Winders.
Make Linux the default target to boot to.
When you're inside of Linux, and you want to set it so it boots Windows for the next boot, and only the next boot, then you do a
lilo -R windows ; shutdown -r now
The next boot will be into Windows. The boot after that will be back into Linux.
Seems like you could set things up very easily to do what you want.
Why yes, it was Linux. If, by Linux, you mean nmap.
Flamebait? That's not an appropriate moderation. You meant to select "offtopic" or perhaps "overrated". Please correct that error.
OK, how about a Greek tragedy then?

Here's an image of the fire
I host my own domain (pdrap.org) on my DSL line.

Rowdy Roddy Piper will track you down and shove them onto your face.

Not a problem. The new IP addresses are represented using one digit, in base 2^128.
Yes, this will be enough. There's probably enough addresses to assign one to every atom in the solar system. Certainly, every letter in every book ever printed could have its own address. Probably every letter could have millions of addresses. More than enough.

That's because the agenda of the Bush administration is anti-constitution.
BTW, while your hero Rush is in prison for doing drugs, I'll be available to explain what you see on Fox TV to you.
Why not just write the kiddie program so that both mice are tied to the same event?

Ummmm. It's just a fast ship, not the national penis of the USA. Take a pill and relax.
