    I'm pictureing a low profile Hybrid with a sorta~ serrated blade running up the middle.. hrm.. kinda like 20,000 leagues under the sea. If it worked on submarines it should function on hybrid cars!

    now it just needs a catchy name & image.

    Yes... lets put the children out of this picture & focus on improving the net. More standards not legislation involving the META system seems the direction to go. -I mean some of my sites have skeletor in the META tags. Why? becuase i like skeletor /shrug Am i at risk because i have a cartoon char. on my METAs? I have no porn sites but i do have adult content.

    When we do a search, it should pull up things pertaining. Porn does not bother me, people trying to sell me something does when im looking for information. With more standards used when creating META tags we could dissolve this problem somewhat.
    It would really take somebody to actually look at your site vs. META though -and that is too obtuse.
    I have no solution /shrug

    The idea of cranking some power into a laptop has had me following the OLPC project from the start. When out in the forest/mountain where you need power for a device like a laptop & sat-phone the product line gets extreamly narrow.

    You need 2 methods to effectivly power your stuff.

    Solar being the most obvious sence it powers life on this planet ~~
    For solar you need a good inverter & good panels. Flexible panels make it much easier as you can get more panel per square inch to send to the inverter.
    Here is a decent setup

    The second would be for at night or in low light. Your gas or for lightweight & low sound.. crank, peddal or plain old electronic car lighter hook up. Whatever gets juice into uour batterys!
    I heard a few fit hampsters could work nicely as a non-stop power supply.
    -Now if your into rugged outdoor equipment & have some time to drool.. check these links.

    I think you have it correct. Alot of new versions of powerfull software will be written for Vista only.
    Lets speculate on.. say AutoCAD 2008.. a company like Autodesk only moves forward.. they will not keep a seperate version for XP under dev. -perhaps 2007 version if vista is even out by then. Maya? Lightwave? Adobe? It depends on corperations affording to migrate to Vista
    Games. we all know ReactOS will not be able to run anything bleeding-edge much less cutting-edge. or any other edge. maybe nothing by the sounds of it.. spider solitare??

    Hopefully they will try and emulate Vista /shrug
    2 years ago this news would have had me hyped up a lil more ~~

    It took me a couple seconds to remember who my ISP even is. All the stuff on TimeWarner's site is trash. (i'm sure) ISPs need to be jump-smacked back into place. provide the service, sit back, shutup & stay out of my sight.

    If you look way back through history, governments always try to run the lotteries. States and the Federal government make $ off any gambling. They are not making any off internet gambling. -that's all there is to it.

    I like my memory the way it is. Just make me a cheap solid-state hard drive & stop beating around the bush. The whole RPM thing on hard drives has to go.
    No moving parts.
    I heard this same story back in the 90s when a friend I know invested in a similar company with what sounds like exactly the same product. Wonder-ram that never looses its memory! It also never came out due to whatever issues, perhaps marketing. And all the investors lost there loot. -and that's my story

    somebody get crackin.. we need a replacment of directX stat.

    Everybody knows gamers push the upper tier of PC technology forward.. If the same crowd was playing these games on linux, hardware companies would cater to Ubunto or Suse instead of Windows. This is something that NEEDS to happen. I will die or gnaw off my hand before i touch a MAC

    I stopped playing consoles when i was a teenager.
    MS does have a monopoly on games because of DX. -If you are playing any cutting edge games.. your playing them on Windows. It's sounding like this will become rock solid with dx10.
    They should be slapped with a antitrust lawsuit seeing how much money the gaming industry pulls in every year. The main reason besides grahics for myself using WinXP is gaming.. If i could ditch MS i would. Perhaps they know this is true for many people.

    I would support a antitrust case on this one.

    ...been doing graphics over 15 years on computers with no issues w/ fonts.
    I guess the problem was the exemployee, because most people never give a shti. So many fonts are freeware support them! If your client wants some old linotype font & is not supplying the font file, tell him its time for a new image.

      1001freefonts.com -this site has been around for a long time... built all my old rave flyers with these unique fonts.

    it was probably the exemployee who created these fonts, put it on the computers then told on the company!

    Castle Wolfenstein was ok, but Doom had me scared to move out of my "safe spot" backed into a corner
    Everquest was the last big jump in a different direction for gaming. Why did they have to ruin this game? now look how many MMORPGs spawned.. /ack
    Im sure i could edit this timeline better.. but thoes are the ground layers
    I'm still waiting for a good FPS. Red Orchestra is #1 for me right now. the modding community and UT engine make it so.

    I got theses sheet style holders from Urban Outfitters.
    They have 7 rows, 5 columns
    A couple sets of these with the CDs in label facing in looks nice i think.
    I keep a sloppy archive of "B,3 or A,5" software stored on them. I stopped keeping the archive active as most of my CDs get tossed out after i transport the data. -but it did work good for a couple years.
    I wonder which effects the earth more, 1 cd or its weight in paper.

    ha... me & my girlfriend have been laughing our arses off with the Arnold Schwarzenegger sound board, "I don't care what happened to your hershey highway!"
    People put alot of time into these soundboards, there are some really good ones out there.
    The Howard Stern soundboard is broken down into greetings, replies, insults, statements.. It is easy to hold somebody thinking they are on the radio for a bit.
    Getting somebody to hold a conversation can be golden. Try a department store or your work. A place that has to be "nice" on the phone ;)
    I just setup WiFi in her Cafe & panini. I have the main PC running the PoS system and also Winamp... for streaming music. It's wired through the speakers in the cafe so when somebody is on the phone the whole place can hear ::))

    First all those companies that charge $ for VoIP suck. I'm talking about Skype here. What is nice at this point in the evolution is how only a certain "crowd" are using Skype. This is like the crowd that built free BBSs and other early internet devices before corporate America and every moron were building sites to make a $. I talk to some girl in China for the simple reason that she likes English.. . (she works translating other languages for a company) It's cool to be able to communicate with anybody in the world so freely. -Anyway... it's a very peaceful system at present & I hope the company keeps it so. I'm sure everybody here knows about the free calling to landlines now. If you want to have some fun, go to a site like albinoblacksheep.com or a site with a Howard Stern soundboard. Call your friends house/cell phones (the number comes up 001-234-5678 on caller ID) and go to town with the sound board. -lots of laughs..

    i have always believed the people producing the most garbage on the net are the people who's jobs are supported by it. use AVG free personal ad aware free a firewall and your all set. I have been running this setup for years with 0 issues. (i even missed on on the sony rootkit because i listen to streamed music ;) yay me
