Way to be totally human-centric. I know it's hard to believe, but there is other shit living on this planet besides humans.

Maybe, but there is still the possibility that some series of weird Twilight Zone circumstances caused him to be in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong gear, and it was actually someone else who committed the crime. Dark theater, mass confusion/chaos, it's entirely within the realm of possibility IMO. There are serious penalties on the line here, so minds need to be kept open and every single bit of possible evidence examined.

Bingo. If you define evolution as the process by which you maximize your species' survivability, then bacteria are WAY more evolved than we will ever be, quite counter-intuitively. It wouldn't take much to rid the universe of humans, but try that with bacteria. Even if the Earth exploded or something, bacteria would ride on the debris to some other planet and colonize, almost guaranteed. And they do it without intelligence, complex biological structures, or technology. We think we're so advanced evolutionarily, but really we're one of the least adapted species on the planet, in terms of survivability.

Don't assume that just because it's bad science it must absolutely be wrong. Bad science can still be right, once in a while... Not saying this is one of those cases, but still better to not jump to conclusions, otherwise you shut the door on possibilities you should have explored more thoroughly

  12. True, but AC was claiming that nukes are only good for deterrence, which is wrong in certain contexts.

  15. Nuclear warheads are pretty much only good to make other people not want to attack you because they fear getting nuked

Sort of wrong. Think a little deeper next time. If you have a sufficiently advanced "Star Wars" system they become a practical offensive tactic.
