Mine is a fixed rate interest only (I think it's set at about 6.5% which is not ridiculously low). What your talking about is obviously an IO ARM (Adjustable Rate Mortgage). ARM's are just plain evil unless you expect to sell the house within the non-adjustable period.

IO (Interest Only) loans are OK - as long as you pay the principal as you go. I have one and it works fine. Obviously the temptation might be there for someone NOT to pay the principal. In that case there should be better independent counseling and advice for people before they are allowed to assume loans.

Safety systems however would never use software they would always use hardwire interlocks to ensure safe operation. So fundamentally it is OK if you are controlling the plant through software but not relying on it for the safety of the system.

I don't understand why "That is the end of the discussion?" What the hell is wrong about video blogging from an event? As long as the subject is the person blogging and NOT the event itself that would seem to be a legitimate enterprise. You keep on talking about escalating this to video of the actual event and I explicitly am not talking about that. I am not even arguing the NCAA were not within their rights to exclude blogging activities at their games - I was just trying to say it was stupid - and I don't think the discussion should end there.

This was not "live-broadcasting" of an event - this was reporting, that's why he has credentials as a journalist. Your equating of live streaming video with text interpreted by a human is laughable. Sometimes I watch sporting events on the television AND read the report the next day in the paper. The reason is because of the added value the reporter gives through their interpretation. The only other benefit from live blogging is the broadcast of the score in near real time - big effing deal.

They are not going to be able to prove that you didn't buy any software installed on your computer. They are only going to be able to prove that you, for example, downloaded software without paying, i.e. the act of downloading copyrighted material. How you are supposed to know that the material is copyrighted is another matter altogether, this would be like receiving stolen goods whereby the receiver is guilty even if they didn't know the goods were stolen. The industry is obviously trying there best to discourage any downloading except from "approved" sources we shall see over the coming few years how this pans out but I think the RIAA are fighting an unwinnable battle here, much like there is public access on open lands in England due to protest "Mass trespasses."

One can just look at the idiocy of Record Companies wrt online distribution and see that, i.e. when will they realize that they should become the information management portals and not really manage the physical distribution anymore - a sort of A&R for the internet?
