I admin Zimbra at my org. To get anywhere near the features you need for a business, you have to BUY the network edition. The free version just isn't going to cut it. You can't even use Zimbra's backup system with the free version.

And we've looked at Alfresco. What started out as a simple shared folder web app has blossomed into a monstrous CMS web serving solution. It's not even in the same sphere as SharePoint anymore.

Reading around about this, it seems the principal forwarded to it his friend, who happened to be an editor at the paper. The editor took it upon herself to run the piece, without influence from the principal. So the principal is not that guilty; he just forwarded on a piece of interest to a friend. The editor was fired after the incident.

It sucks what happened to these folks, but I think all the justice that can be done, has already been done.

  5. These are sequels that people actually want on Pixar's Next Three Films Will Be Sequels · · Score: 3, Interesting

When Steve Jobs sold Pixar to Disney (and became Disney's largest shareholder in the process), he said (paraphrasing here) that Disney should stop pissing on its legacy and cranking out direct-to-DVD sequels of decades-old classics. Believe me, he is not a fan of sequels just as a cash-grab.

But, these planned Pixar sequels are films that people actually want to see. They have been demanding them. I'm surprised to not see an Incredibles sequel on the list, because there are a lot of folks that want that one too.

I am not disappointed by this news. All of these will be great movies. I wish they could squeeze in some original flicks among the sequels, but I'm not worried about it. They are giving the fans what they want, and will blow us away with the next original Pixar movie when it comes out.

BTW, Up was great; better than Ratatouille and WALL-E, in my opinion. Mad props to Pixar for giving a great actor like Ed Asner a starring role in a high-budget blockbuster film at the age of 76. The man's earned the right to rake in some serious royalty cash for himself and his heirs.

See, Stallman started the Free Software Foundation (GNU) 25 years or so ago. He's been promising an operating system, GNU Hurd, for a long time. The lack of a viable kernel has been keeping Hurd on the backburner ever since. But once the Linux kernel was released into the wild, all the other GNU tools, apps and utilities finally had an operating system with which they could be used. So nobody gives a crap about Hurd anymore (although it's apparently a 1.0 is still coming someday), and use Linux instead. But, Stallman is very quick to point out that it should be called GNU/Linux since most of the OS is made up of GNU tools, except for the Linux kernel itself. So the GP was just poking fun at Stallman's continual taking credit for Linux's success because of all of "his" GNU tools included in every distro.

That said, the page you linked to sends users into all that unfamiliar territory. It only reinforces the stereotype that you have to know archaic commands to get stuff done in Linux. And ones like this are particularly troublesome, because it's resolving a problem getting online. But you have to be online to learn how to fix it. So what's somebody going to do? I just like the feel of the mouse, and the precision is pretty darn good. With a black MacBook, Dell's Bluetooth "travel mouse" coordinates pretty well.

I really can't stand Apple's Bluetooth Mighty Mouse. I don't like the feel of the mouse, or the tiny little scroll wheel, or how there are no real physical buttons. Too often it issues a standard click instead of a right-click, even though I'm pushing to the right of the scroll wheel. Guess I'm not pushing it far enough to the right of the scroll wheel...and that's just asinine.
