It could be that the competition for the top of the 500 slot is becoming less of technological achievement and more of just who has the most $$$ to spend. Just like auto racing used to be about improvements in engines and transmissions etc but after a point everybody could make a faster car just by buying more commonly available, well known technology than the other guys. So they put in limitations for the races, only so big a venturi, displacement, etc.
Anyway, my point is - it's becoming just "I can afford more processors than you can so I win" instead of the heyday of Seymore Cray when you really had to be talented to capture the #1 spot from IBM.
IMO "AI" research is misguided whatever approach you take. As they say, trying to make a machine think is like trying to make a submarine swim. Maybe it's the modern technological equivilent of the ancient search for god - you either never find it but have a big adventure doing so, or realize they were intelligent all along. Heck, a thermostat is "intelligent" - it senses the enviroment, makes a "decision" and takes action. All you can do it just make things more & more self contained, self sufficient, autonomous and independant.
hope springs eternal - nice to see such idealism but it's a streach to imagine that any businessman will believe that people in general have had an epiphany of "do the right thing" and that they'll now pay for things on the honor system. Might as well try to convince the grocer they'll get more business if you just let ppl walk out w/ groceries and put money in the box as they leave, instead of the currently detestible process of having to stand in line, scan groceries, collect cash and hand out exact change with a receipt. But we can always dream.
That's pretty bizarre - so they're promoting intolerance toward a particular news feed and censorship in the name of tolerance. The irony is killing me.
I used to buy supplies (monitors, printers) on company expense and make a copy of the receipt before turning it into accounting. Then mail in the rebate myself and have it sent to my home. Cha-ching.
I've noticed an increase in stock tip spam getting through (spamassassin at my FreeBSD based ISP, so I don't control it) - but they capatalize O's a lot so they're pretty easy to weed out 5 or 10 a day.

google "sol-20", a very collectibe 8080 era machine with attractive wooden ends.
we'd probably require the Aliens to 'upgrade' (laughably) to a Word® 2005 site license before we can successfuly communicate.

When the law is on your side, fine. When it's not, go ahead and do what you want anyway. What are they going to do, breakup your company? Hahahah!
you mean sneering, derisive remarks about Windows isn't enough? Dang.
I remember one time an Infineon lawyer was questioning a Rambus hired expert and asked him what a flip-flop was.
I would have answered, "British slang for a bi-stable multivibrator".
regarding the Anti-Phishing Act of 2005."
Wow - you know hacking has hit the big time when federal acts are spelled with a 'ph' for an 'f'.
