The same sorta thing happened around the time Archie Bunker was on TV. My father and his brother both watched the show (as everyone did). One of them took it as satire/social comentary wraped in a thin veil of comedy, and he learned a little about himself. The other one took it as jusification for his hate. I think we all know by now that it was brilliant (for the time) TV. Lucky for me and my family, my father learned enough through that characters ugly side, to look into himself and make a change. His brother did not.
There are people who recognize when they are being mocked. Others can just go fuck themselves.
I have no evidence. None.
But i do have the choice to not believe those that are geting paid an UNRESONABLE sum of money to support a specific point of view. That is my choice. And in my world, you are wrong, if money is the motive, its a damn good bet that the point of view is not only wrong, but lying by choice.
Not surprisingly, one of the main backers of co2science is Exxon. As well as both main authers on the site were at one tim e members of the Western Fuels Association (coal and oil). You cant make a valid argument when you are a shill.
So you are saying I could get 545 hours of mediocre self entertainment for $600(PS3)..OR spend it all in ONE NIGHT on drugs, Hookers, gambling and booze?
My choice was made by the time you made the "hookers" suggestion.
crap, forgot some words.
"Its not that you are going to know it ALL, all the time, just know enough to have mistakes less then your failure."
I guess im not literate.
I would say that when your computer literate you would succeed a bit more then fail every time you try something new (for you) on/with your computer. Its not that you are going to know it ALL, all the time, just know enough to have mistakesfailure.
I work in a store that sells computer products, but just apple and related products. The one thing I dont think everyone thinks about is that alot of the time the most "knowledgeable" sales person can come off as a real jerk by treating the "inferior" customer who knows very little about computers. I am happy to say, i dont see much of this where I work, but I have to call a spade a spade. Sometimes hiring the most knowledgeable person, one that has no people skills, will get you nothing but a sales person with something to prove.
Remember how when you were younger, you tried different things just to see what they were like? And they you told your friends about it and they would try it too, just to see what it was like? Thats what life is STILL about. Learning, and being excited and helping others to learn. Although it sounds like you are too far along in your "comfortable adult" life to do anything that is outside of what you already do.
Listen to new bands. Ride a bike sometimes. Do not under any circumstances grow too old to try something new. "Why would do that?" should never be said about something that would not cause you or others harm. Its just a couple gigs of HD space.
Actually, if you Google it, you can find leaked photos of 10.5. I forgot where...but just search for "latestpics.tgz". Just dont mind the messages saying "Do you want to install this?", that dont mean nothing.
A little backround...
I work in a Mac only service and support center where we do hardware and software repair/troubleshooting. I did not get this job because i know everything there is to know about computers(although by now, of course i can say that i know ALOT about Apple based hardware and software), i got it because i am good with people that have computer problems and i treat them with RESPECT when they come in for a solution. Prior to this, NONE of my former jobs had anything to do with computers, therefor i have little to no experence with the Windows environment. That being said...
I installed XP on my MacBook, to see what it was all about, and part of that is of course TO GET VIRUSES! Because after never once having to deal with a Virus/Trojan/worm/other at my (Macintosh only) job, i wanted to see what these things called Viruses actually does. I have never seen a Virus. I have worked in a computer service center for 5 years and have NEVER seen a cutomer come in with one. I figure it would be good to step out of my bubble. Maybe you should too? You can install OSX on your PC, and i think you should. If I will install it on my Mac to see "how the other half lives", i expect more respect from you.
Also, everyone installing XP, they know what they are in for, the process of install is "easy", but not so easy that just anyone will do it. I would have to assume they are familiar with Windows enough (do to the install process alone) to know what to do to prevent infection. As for me....COME AND GET ME VIRUS!!!
Funny thing about that video is if you look at the new Mac Mini (intel) box, you will notice that apple marketing is taking a page out of the "The more bullet points the better!" advertising 101 hand book. I thought apple was above that?

".....but really does a Advance Wars Dual Strike deserve the same price point as an Oblivion?" answer: OH HELL YES IT DOES!

To learn.
