No, but using your property to electronically attack and disable my property breaks computer misuse laws.

  2. I think it's because the main consoles are crippled by design to only allow games to connect to the paid-for gaming network, interaction with which is controlled by the console manufacturer.

So as a game developer you can either work within their constraints or miss out entirely on sales to that platform. Cross-platform play isn't going to happen in either instance so you're not helping your customers at all by restricting your market, and there are strong financial incentives to avoid being the game that challenges the hegemony of the console companies.

I encountered one of those on Overwatch at the weekend. I responded with calm polite wit and s/he could only manage 'shut up. shut up. shut up' after that.

I muted my microphone and laughed.

Well, dinner + movie you'd be looking somewhere like the Alamo Drafthouse (if they weren't sexist shits). Picking Austin on the grounds it's somewhere I know better than most places in the US, you're looking at $11 for the movie, $15 for a decent burger, lets round up to $35 per person to include a drink. Follow that with a round at the Peter Pan Mini Golf that's nearby, another $7 per person.

So you've spent $85 for a night out for two people, throw three dollars at a homeless person, buy https://www.amazon.com/Violin-... and you still have a cent left from your $100.

    Could've been done cheaper too...

The problem is that sources are not cited when something is banned or blocked from services.

Facebook is lucky it's big enough to turn down custom. I don't trust for a single second though that everybody it turns down is peddling 'fake news' - especially not if you don't include the likes of CNN and the BBC in that list.

Yeah, I write to the BBC and call out their vicious bias from time to time. They respond with bullshit but it's starting to take effect, the online site is now showing greater balance than it did over the past couple of years.

    I agree with you.

Sadly that liberal reality isn't being reflected in much of the media, or indeed in the censorship policies and actions of major social media corporations.

  10. Nonsense. People break religious rules all the time, the rules aren't keeping them in line.

Religious prescription against murder, rape, incest, etc are because societies recognise those things as undesirable, so any religion claiming moral authority reflects that societal opinion to avoid the inherent credibility hit.

Hence ISIS with their murderous ways being rejected by other muslims. Whether Islam is made up bullshit or not, the ISIS interpretation of it failed to garner widespread support.

Religion as a whole is a population control tool, but human societies tend towards moral codes anyway and religion in no way keeps anybody 'in line'. If anything, quite the opposite - or should I cite ISIS again?

  11. I'm not sure that anybody's said that innocent people dying as a result of police activity isn't a problem.

It is possible though to demand improved training and a culture shift within the police without shitting yourself every time you see a policeman.

Judging by the responses and moderation on this topic I should invest in adult diapers, there's clearly a serious fucking demand for them.

  12. I don't have to be an Internet Tough Guy to call out the insane fucking fear that people in the US force themselves to live under.

All these responses going on about the violent police. The police are fucking nothing in the US compared to the general populace, and what you're all doing about it is.. promoting more violence.

Punch a Nazi or shoot the fucking police at a BLM event. Sure, that's going to settle things down.

Where the fuck do you all fucking live? My friends in Texas own firearms and will go out to help a neighbour. They're not scared of the police, they just live more than 8 minutes away from emergency assistance, or have a sense of community, or trust that if they're not breaking the law then they're generally going to be just fine.

Maybe it's not a location thing, maybe it's a generational thing. Perhaps the answer is to bring back national service and ship everybody to fucking Africa for a couple of years to learn what a hard life really looks like.

Internet fucking tough guy meme? No, human being that isn't a scared selfish cunt meme.

  13. Sure. They're going to do that.

Meanwhile, your neighbour may have just bled to death. Depending which state you're in, you might well have broken the law.

What's wrong with calling the police, heading over the valley, assessing the situation and providing aid? Oh no, might get hurt? Fucking cowardly piece of shit.

Shit, we're talking an organisation that still broadcasts a daily Women's Hour. No Men's Hour; they tried that as a once a week thing, devoted it to nonsense topics, didn't address any of the societal challenges facing men.

You may want more manual control and some people are writing software that allows greater autonomy but there aren't many options that include the usability and capability of the DJI drones, let alone at that price point.
