What I'm saying is there isn't a distinction and that's the problem. If they leave a wireless conection unsecured, there is no way for me to know that it's there private connection or their public connection. For example, lets say you have two houses side by side both unlocked. You give me authorization to enter the place your mail on the table. I do so, not knowing you wanted me to go into the left house not the right. You get all pissed off and try to sue me for your own ignorance. And you sue the person you hired to water your plants because they did the same thing!
Now, I don't work in network security or anything like that although I am a programmer. Some of the laws that are being developed or enforced are starting to literally scare me!
For example, I use my laptop all over the city, if I can get on an open WiFi link I'll use it, which could either 'A' be a vulnerability because they "forgot" to set a password or 'B' they intentially left it open. And if they have shared files on the network, I might just browse through them. So if I leave them a nice little note explaining the possible vulnerability of their node and they come back saying I broke into thier network, which I did not, where does that leave me? Obviously a over simplified example but the idea is there.
I think something definately has to be done about this and on another note, there is IMO, a difference between simply accessing a system and destroying/stealing data. I'm not upto date on all the "Tech" laws that have been imposed on us but nothing pisses me off more then the lawmakers setting rules for things that they know nothing about or don't research enough to know the implications of the laws they place. I could go on and on...'nough said.
Forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but as far as trailers go, fileplanet has added an entire section just for E3. I have a subscription, but it seems in general the waiting aspect isn't too bad either...
I can't help but be impressed. One of the difficulties with electric autos, is maintaining the power/torque nessisary to make them worthwhile. It looks like this Wright guy did it...now no one needs electric cars that preform quite so extream, yet why not take this technology, improve it just a bit, extend the range of the auto by 100-200% and viola! you have yourself a decent electric car for once.
Yeah, I would hope so as well! I guess my point being that a good system would need to be established before I would trust ANY of my information to be traveling freely through the air regaurdless how the rf device is implimented...I wouldn't want some joe off the street just to be able to 'request' the data either!;)
I guess my thought is, with rf tags it's always trasmitting, it's like yelling out your credit card every time you use it, anyone around can steal the data.
Well, I guess you got to love all the critics out there! Geez, I mean I grew up watching Star wars video's and imagining AT-AT's destroying my neighborhood! I've seen the original, the SE, and the newer ones. Do I like everything that has been done with the series? No. But I have respect for George Lucas and his imagination. As a whole, the movies are damn good! I'd like to see anyone else come up with an anthology over such a timeline to match the cultic experience of Star Wars. Obviously, the newer movies weren't going to have the same effect as the older ones, but why should I shoot Mr. Lucas over that? Come on, cut the guy some slack...you all know you want to buy it anyway!:P
Well, not to sound like a hater, but I always thought there were way too many want-a-be programmers out there anyway. Better that there are moare kids thinking programming requires "work" which it does. I might still have a job in 20 years!
Now please know that knocking what has been done here. But is it just me or is the title of the article completely wrong? I looked at the video and while the drop is indeed climbing over these "saw" teeth, it isn't going uphill. Now if this was on an incline or really going uphill that would be cool! Of course if anyone has blown on a drip of water on a hard surface, such as a desk, they have essentially created this same affect but obviously without the heat. Watch the video you will see how the drops shape changes from the force behind it.
Leave it to the media to completely misrepresent something.
I don't know that I fully agree with your point of view. Granted, many videogame movies are completely terrible, it has to do with the fact of lack of backing/fundage. IMO, Tomb Raider was actually a pretty good film and my wife at the time which isn't even a gamer thought the film entertaining.
I also feel that although one would like to think games require the player to make things up this simply is not true. Too many games are one dimensional and require you to simply play the character as opposed to really become immersed in the game. Since Tomb Raider came up, let's continue on that line. Look at the new game that came out in the series, now while I have only played the demo there is no way I will buy the game, why because it's way to linear!
There is no way the games are to blame for a lack of creativity at the box office. As mentioned earlier first and foremost is the lack of funding, second is the fact that most of these "movies" are managed by people who apparently can't manage, seriously I could come up with a better plot for half these movies. If you make a movie about a video game, the first thing you need to realize is just that...it's a movie not a video game. The same thing happens with books, there have been many books made into movies which have flopped, just you don't hear about it as much and game movies are a newer phenomenon.
Another point, the gaming industry is taking over entertainment. Do you for a minute think movie companies are happy about this? Why would they even want to support a game's intellectual property on their "platform" by their rival group?
And frankly, I fail to see how the decline of the movie industry as a whole has anything to do with Gaming other then the fact they are losing money because people would rather play games then spend 10+$ a person to see some crappy second rate film no one put any time into. When filmmaker start doing their job and making some entertaining movies I might start watching again until then I'll just spend my time doing something productive or plop my fat ass down and enjoy some real entertainment in the immersive world of gaming.

So starbucks has a public net connection...and they have a private they don't secure, how do I know the difference?!
For example, I use my laptop all over the city, if I can get on an open WiFi link I'll use it, which could either 'A' be a vulnerability because they "forgot" to set a password or 'B' they intentially left it open. guess I was thinking about the wii controller that there is so much hype around!
Completely off topic: but I agree with your sig! If I could only give my humble opionion at times! ;)
Aren't controllers already 3d?! :P
LMAO...just wait until Nintendo gets sued for causing some poor guy a heart attack!

I stay away from coffee.

That's cool, I think I went to some place similar, although I can't place my finger on it now :|
Yeah, too bad there really aren't cool things like this in nature! It all has an explination: http://www.sandlotscience.com/MysterySpots/Mystery _Spots_1.htm
