I suggest getting some education in an area you are already interested in. i.e. hobbies, sports, geology, cars, whatever. You can then use your skills to apply the CS degree to the other area, what ever that may be. You will be MUCH more valuable to employers in that specific field than any generic degree. Plus you end up enjoying your job so much more!
Go back to high school civics class. History, remember it? When Regan cut taxes revenue went up due to the increase in the economy. George W. hasn't cut taxes enought to make ANY difference. He needs to cut more to stimulate the economy! The amount he cut was insignificant. The reason revenue is down is that the economy is down.
$180/hour plus expenses. The serious ones will pay, the others don't get helped. I'm a professional so if they want my support they get charged the same as a business. This is how I make my living, if they don't understand that then I can't help them anyway.
Boy are you wrong! I was working with Oracle and the Mitre corp. during the 80's to make a secure version of Oracle to handle multilevel security for the Air Force. This was before the government gave the internet away. Security was designed into ALL OSs at the time. Only Micro$oft ignored the writing that was on the wall. So, I've never run Windows. I do get an occasional virus. I always open them up and see what they do. Bill Gates should be taken to court on a class action suit. But, oh yea, you stupidly clicked on the EULA which allows Microsoft to get away with this type of behavior. HaHaHaHa! So it's your fault!

I remember using the PEEK statement in TRS-80 days to do the same function... Prior art? Nah, it doesn't even say "IsNot". But the will they get the patent anyway? Sure. Microsoft lines the pockets of the patent office staff.
Don't get me started. It has been found that only the short fiber, blue asbestos, caused lung cancer. As does most any other short fiber particles. White asbestos, or long fiber asbestos, has never been associated with the problem. Since it got lumped together, we now can't use any asbestos even though is is very good for many purposes. White asbestos is still used through out the world with no problems.
I'm averaging 45 mpg in my Honda Civic Hybrid. I travel about 60 miles every day and have about 2500 feet of elevation change twice a day. I suspect that these people are driving like idiots to get such low mileage. Remember that the estimate is based on very conservative driving. Level ground, few stops/starts, etc. When I purchased my car the regular CIVIC was ~$17000. I payed $19000 but get $2000 tax break so they end up costing the same. I also got a state sales tax break which reduced it even more.
Since ~40% of kids graduating from high school can't read, guess what those kids are going to do... surf the porn/Britney Spears photo crap etc. First teach kids to read, write and do math.
I work in the Utility industry. We have been trying to build new transmission lines and power plants for over 20 years but have been blocked by environmentalists, government, our own customers, etc. The entire industry has been running the system on 30-40 year old hardware (lines, transformers, powerplants) and have only had a couple of large outages since then. I think that we are doing very well with what we are allowed to build. The utility that I work for is still regulated, still have our generation and have just lowered our prices... and we are number 1 in the nation for reliability! Maybe deregulation is part of the problem.
I just had one "pop" and go up in smoke. The PC was OFF! It also tripped the breaker on my UPS and the PSU was only two days old. Quality isn't what it used to be. The PSU was made by Chieftec. Tigerdirect is sending me a new one. I've got my fingers crossed.
With the exception of the DVDs (which I can copy now) I thought it was legal to copy anything off of cable or broadcast TV. When did they take that away? Oh well, as other posters have said. How long can the hack take?

Hmm. Sounds like I could make a movie about this.

From the article: "You should only run software from publishers you trust"
Exactly! That's why I don't run Microsoft Windoze.
