All other things being equal means.. If you increase the load on each individual partition after virtualization it would increase the power requirements. Perhaps the person who misread an article should stop trying to argue with people that have a first hand knowledge of the technology.
You need to reread the article you linked. In no case would virtualization use more power than an equivalent non-virtualized environment. Yes the server with 5 images running will use more power than it did with its single OS, but it will still use less power than 5 or 6 individual servers (All other things being equal).

Every button on the sling remote has a keyboard equivalent (At least the directivo and HR20 ones) and if you want to delve into the UI you can make them whatever you want.
SlingMedia has been around a couple years now and is on the second generation of the product. They are still a new company but probally do not qualify as a startup. Sony has location free tv and there are other similar products out there too. Sling is probably the best place shifting consumer device on the market, that is why they get the most attention.
If sling media closed tomorrow, slingboxes would still work, some people might have to get dynamic dns set up, but other than that the boxes would retain 100% functionality.
Than someone wherever you worked was just not very bright. I have had a classic since release and it has worked flawlessly. I have 2 Avs and the classic is still working great.
There are no other products free or pay that compare with the slings ability to dynamically adjust to changing bandwidth. I have tried everything out there. I travel internationally 40-50 weeks a year and have tried every solution available including myth, orb , beyond and 2 or 3 others. Nothing has the hardware and remote support (or even comes close).
BTW(Because it is not relayed to the comment I am currently responding to). It is silly to call myth free when you have to buy a PC and a tuner card.. The sligbox is a compact easy to use all in one solution that does exactly what it claims, better than you would expect and classics can be had for less than the price of moderate tuner card that will not provide anywhere near the quality.
If that is their target market they already failed.

I believe on launch day the WII had outsold the PS3 and has had a much better supply since then. Neither company has released any numbers since the release week(that I am aware of), so we can't really say for sure.
I just picked up Wiimotes and Nunchucks whenever I saw them in a store until I had 4 of each. They trickle into stores and you never know who will have them. I believe I fot a nunchuck from best buy, 2 nunchucks and a wiimote from a target and the other 2 wiimotes from walmart.

At least in Europe it is common for (naturally) monopolistic markets (e.g. Electrical distribution) to be regulated, with fixed prices. That's what Russia had for music, and that's what the US forced them to abandon. In the US electrical distribution, cable television and local telephone service are regulated monopolies. In most US markets they are finding ways to open some of this up to competition, but for now the owners of the last mile for electrical wire, cable tv and telephone service remain regulated monopolies.
