    My friend works for Verizon. He claims there is a "vault" in one of their data centers he worked in which is run by the NSA which no one - not even Verizon employees can enter. Now if that does not sound sinister I don't know what does.

    I don't think networks really want you to record anything, especially since you might you ad-skip. Having an open program info stream would just make it to easy. We don't want to make anything easy for the consumer do we?

    the telephone company know the caller ID of whoever is initiating the call They use ANI which is how 911 gets your number, which is not spoofable. So the phone company always knows who is really calling. On almost any non pots phone system it is trivial to set up caller ID any way you want.

    Not even in the slightest.

    But they bitch and moan when stuff does not work because they screwed it up. And throw their hands up in the air because they haven't got a clue. Then you try to explain some things to them so this does not happen again (and again) and they just plug their ears, walk away. Then they come back in a few minutes and say "Did you get it working yet?" Of course I did you twit. If you would watch, listen and understand you could too.
    Like my tenant, I went over 1000 times over the last 10 years how to burn a CD. He still calls me when he wants to burn a CD. I explained to him the best course of action after this long is to stop trying. He agreed because it's just too complicated and he is not a "computer guy" like me.
    I just hope stupidity is not contagious.

    On my last job my boss was very careful not to stroke my ego until the day I left for greener pastures..
    He said " You know I couldn't tell you this while you were working for me - but you are the best technician I ever met, sorry to see you go."
    I was somewhat perplexed but that's that.

    I know this programmer (programmers are THE most arrogant of the nerdy type) claims he can write thousands of lines of code, from his head, the first time through with 0 compile errors and 0 warnings. He claims to never have used a debugger in his career. He claims there is simply NO BETTER programmer than he is. Never has been, never will be. And don't ask him for programming help. It just turns into a show off session while at the same time he belittles you on how stupid of a programmer you are. He will show you something and then not explain it with a shit eating grin on his face. What is it with thees people?

    Perhaps it's frequency drift. As components age their values change slightly. And when dealing with 2.4 Ghz and above tolerances are strict. It's just my guess.. Take it or leave it.

    So when you have to sell your house and or car to pay legal fees, where will you live? You probably don't own any of those things so you have nothing to loose. Don't get me wrong, I admire your zeal and your message, I share it. But then there is reality: paying thees men in suits which you (and i) loathe for the rest of your working life is another story.     That's what they are in business for. To get and aggregate as much info about you as possible. Security, loopholes, and privacy are secondary. In fact privacy is a dirty word in facebook land. If you give you secrets and info on face book and think only the people you want to know - know, Your nuts. You have told the world. If you want privacy, then don't join the facebook privacy abomination. It's funny that people (like my aunt) think face book is doing this out of the goodness of their hearts, bringing people together,.. Nothing is further from the truth..
