...so much greatness came into this world that the gods decided to take out John Lennon just a few hours later via some insane nutjob to keep the greatness-meter in balance.
Wait, wait, wait, by what law can a plaintiff file an appeal? Most American law is based on English common law, including the court process. Filing in a higher court on new grounds for the same request is premissible, but I am uncertain how they can simply appeal a judgement found in the defendant's favor.
Oh, and this is one of my favorite spam mails, copied and pasted exactly. Try making a filter that knocks this out. My company's software did, intentional spelling errors and all.
Everybody knows the great sexual scandal known as "Klinton-Levinsky".
After the relations like this Klintons popularity raised a lot!
It is a natural phenomenon, because Bill as a real man in order not to
shame himself when he was with Monica regularly used Voagra.
What happened you see. His political figure became more bright and more attr=
active.
It is very important for a man to be respected as a man!
See our Voagra shop to enter upon the new phase of your life.
Well, spam blockers aren't humans reading the e-mails, and who but the recipient will always know if something is wanted? I mean, I may not want Viagra (no need without boy bits), but you might. If users want to complain, they ought to take a look on what it's like to create the anti-spam and anti-phishing programs. There is quite a lot to it, and not so many of us who do it for as many users as there are.
Here, at my company, the spam department has just a few people who evaluate potential spam mail (or phishing, depending on which section the person is assigned to). If it's spam, our software is programmed to identify it based on certain criteria. If something is filtered out, it goes to the junk box. The user has the option to go through that box nand white-list anything marked as spam that they may actually want when they have the time to do so. It's much more efficient than going through your inbox and having to manually soft out the spam yourself. Spam filters are meant to assist, not to 100% take care of the problem. It's a piece of software that follows instructions literally. If I send you a legitimate e-mail about medical findings on Viagra and your filter identifies e-mail with the word "Viagra" as potential spam, assuming you're using a basic filter versus something like a Bayesian, it's going to get thrown in the junk box. How is it supposed to be able to identify it as legitimate? Even with Bayesians, words identified as spam words may have a legit use, but enough use of those words will give it a rating neccessary for it to be marked as spam.
The simple solution, if someone is worried about legit mail going to their spam boxes, is to not use a spam filter at all. Then it will all go to their inbox. And who knows. You just might find yourself the lucky one standing to gain several hundred million dollars.
(Something I find humorous - I had to edit this post to get it through SlashDot's filters!)
"The purpose of this car is to have fun and be stupid," he says with a laugh. "This is entertainment. It's a toy, a toy for silly boys." LOL, yes, the only difference between men and boys is the cost of their toys!
His company is a mile from where I work. I just looked it up.
Oh, and BMWs run smooth at 140. So he could have saved himself the touble of souping up a bug. But, you know, when you have a spare quarter mill burning a hole in your pocket, why not?:)
Why should I or any adult have what I do or watch censored because parents aren't monitoring their children's internet activity or what they watch on tv, etc.. Society is not responsibility for babysitting.
If a parent does not assert authority, that parent should be punished for neglect.
Cheap clothing, food, plans to open a bank, computers.... Is there nothing Wal-Mart doesn't provide aside from living wages, benefits, and dignified to its employees?
Because if waiting a few more months means getting what's the most up-to-date, then that's what I will do. If nothing new was planned, I'd get it now. I'm going to get a MacBook Pro.
That simply says that banks sometimes employ the same tactics to get a hold of the customer as a scammer. This is true. But it doesn't say that you shouldn't call the main customer service number.
The agent did eventually connect the poster to the person he needed.
The right way to do it, of course, is to have the human from the security department leave this message: To call us back, call the number on your card; then, immediately enter the following code to be directed to the right department. This is a great suggestion. Not flawless, but still muct better and easier that what currently happens.
Agreed. Unless it's someone like Bill Gates, it's just not worth the time to tape stuff back together, and someone who's property is really worth it will have more than just an alarm.
The 3-7% are breaking the most basic of rules we all know. Let them get their IDs stolen. They're freely giving it away!
It's a form of online fraud, and I specialize in its prevention. There are two simple things to do to prevent ID/personal info theft like this.
Never click a link in an e-mail. I'd say you can hover over the link and you'll see it's masked, forwarded, just plain a different site, etc., but most of the population has no clue how to read those things anyway (though I'm sure most, if not all, of you here know how to). Go directly to the company's page if you have an account with them. If they need you to "verify" info or whatever, the legit site will tell you after you've signed in. Ignore it altogether if you don't have an account with the place supposedly sending it (right now it's very common to receive things from "Chase" asking to fill out a survery and get $20).
The second is to call the regular customer service number you can get through 411. An agent via that number can connect you to whoever you need. If the e-mail says to call a certain number to get hold of a certain person, an agent can help you find that person, if he/she exists and is an employee of the company.
No legit institution at which you have an account will address you as, "Dear customer," or some other impersonal greeting. Always by your name.
It's at the point that I believe that, if someone has their ID stolen, they deserve it. We've all heard time and again not to click on links, and yet 3-7% of people still fall for these things. Yes, the number is that high. Scary, huh?
...our politicians really have nothing better to do than to waste time on a bill that can't be enforced? There is no president to keep in line, no repeat-child-molester free due to a technicality loophole in the law?
They couldn't stop piracy, and they're not going to stop this. So they may as well quit wasting tax dollars via their salaries, and instead do something worthwhile.
I live all of ten minutes from ol' Stevie, and no one here is worried. Just a bit of hype for the headlines. There are plently of people here who can take over these positions and the company will be just fine, as long as they keep coming out with a new mist-have iPod every month and keep upping prices on certain iTunes downloads. And I'm pretty certain that some of the post-dot-bomb homeless guys will enjoy the grooming and bathing.
Caprica takes place 50 years prior BSG. The Galactica is 50 years old and was used during the Cylon wars, that took place over a span of about 10 years. So are we to believe that the first Cylon was created at the same time Cylons were numerous enough to start a war?
Sheesh, someone needs to go back and take Duh 101.
And yeah, I'm one of those rabid fans of the new series, though I really do like the old one as well.
AND I'm a liberal! An NRA-supporting pro-life Dem. Go figure!

Um, New Line and I think it's Universal are in a face-off over doing The Hobbit. Jackson's contracted to New Line and Universal has the rights to The Hobbit, but wants Jackson. Neither is willing to give.
If all our money is on a card and we can't actually hold it in our hands, we have no control over it. What if you lose the card and have no back-up cash? What if the government just plain decides to attach your money to something or the bank decides to impose new fees without your consent? I'm one of those who keeps my money in CASH because I have the control over it and feel that it's safer hidden at home than it is under the control of a financial institution.
To be born, our parents, certain things we are not able to choose. You know you don't even have the right to make decisions for your children anymore. If the government doesn't like what you choose, they will choose for you. I've seen it happen.
I'm not a boy. Nope, I'm a woman who believes that men should have the right to not fight for a cause they don't believe in. And in San Francisco, people can't own or possess guns in the city limits anymore (violation of our right to keep and bear arms), but yet those gangbangers from over the bridge in Oakland can carry their guns because a local law apparently can't be imposed on those outside the city.
I support the NRA.
As someone with a slew of medical problems, I still see this as a violation of human rights. These microchips would be abused by the government, just one more way for us to all be turned into things owned by the government rather than humans in charge of our own lives. Right now we're humans owned (um, the draft? where they can FORCE men into service?)
We're edging toward a civil war. The Constitution guarantees us the right to overthrow the government in cases such as what it has been doing. Oh, wait. That's right. We no longer have our Constitutional rights.

Because Cher's got to be preserved with formaldehyde by now, and it's not too fashionable for men yet.

At what point do intellectual property rights cross into freedom of information?
Bush illegally spying on us, Microsoft illegally marketing, what next, gas companies illegally price-gouging us? Is there no one we can trust?!
