My my, defensive aren't we? I didn't intend to state much of an opinion originally. But I guess I have to defend myself now. Yeah, I think the website is dumb. I do believe students and teachers should be able to express themselves politically. I also believe it's fair to criticize them if I disagree with their message or their methods. Hitler could not take criticism, only his most trusted cohorts were allowed to be frank with the Fuhrer. Anyone else who dared speak up were eventually killed or sent away to concentration camps.
Ultimately, I believe all things are open to criticism, especially the work of an artist.
Everyone already knows about it. It's gotten all the attention it could possibly get, via the media, internet, and otherwise.
It's valid to call it that, because: a) If it's a guy on a soap box, then its a joke. or b) It's a joke.
Anyway, I put in the web admin's name and email address. If there's any spammy funny business going on with that he'll get a mouth full of his own garbage.
After a quick WHOIS search, and a bit of googling, I found that this is registered to an individual who worked in 2009 as a San Francisco Art Institute teaching assistant.
Maybe the best thing to do is to abandon your US citizenship, become a naturalized citizen of another country, and then apply for an H-1B visa back in the US.
I also use it, and I had that happened to me but with UStudio ads. Then I cleared my history, cache, download history, cookies, form data, and even my saved passwords. After that, the annoying ads went away. I would also get ads for software I had already bought, and a bank that I already use. It was like being infected with malware as a condition of running an otherwise fine browser.
I use the search/run feature constantly. Metro worried me so much that it made me install Enso Launcher to avoid the "jarring" experience caused by switching back and forth with it. That said, I hope they don't back pedal on that. I'm genuinely curious to see if people accept it.

The Democrats will screw you in the name of ending piracy, safety, global-warming, and taxes. The Republicans will screw you in the name of security, starting wars, policing pornography, and enforcing morality. The one guy you thought was awesome, the one you you thought was different? Well turns out he's a coward.
I have a ASUS Transformer with a keyboard dock. It gets 16 hours of battery life, and is pretty good at taking notes. You can also record the lecturer, take pictures of the white board and insert it into your notes (using Evernote).
Yeah... it took a really long time to get here, but then we had other priorities - like computing power (overheating P3s in 12 pound laptops anyone?), wifi internet access, and modern operating systems.
The simple fact that the office of the Presidency is seen as so important... and by virtue of the great power he welds... demonstrates that its only a matter of time.
You claim to not know enough information to pass judgement, and then you pass judgement, declaring racism. Nice doubletalk there. Just goes to show how insidious the anti-discrimination laws are. If he's broken the law, judge him with the law, but don't go tacking on bullshit like that just to prosecute your man anyway.
If you do a lot of writing or coding I can see that. Just having 56 more lines of vertical resolution means little no matter how big your screen is. You should look for the 1920x1200 monitors. There should also be some 1600x1200 screens available somewhere.
That doesn't matter. If you want to be an ethical person, you'll use Gnash over Flash, even if it barely functions.
To me it's like the debate over food. They say we're immoral for eating meat, even though our diet has always involved meat of some sort. We are omnivores... our most efficient diet involves a bit of everything. But that's not important. The important thing is that you don't eat meat, even if you're worse off because of it.
Of course, I think either position is hogwash but that's just me. I'll keep my closed source software and pork because my idea of morality and ethics are clearly different. How one goes about changing something so fundamental in people is anyone's guess.
You are taught from an early age the fundamentals of right and wrong. We are never taught a thing about opensource software or what it means or why its important we should use it above all else and no matter the cost. I'd guess, if you want to teach this kind of thinking, it would be best to start there, because by the time they are adults most of them will think its kinda silly. Kids are much easier to brainwash.
Bah. I like them. They have a GPS, an accelerometer, and two cameras. This hardware, in combination with their excellent battery life and larger screens (compared to cell phones), make them excellent for augmented reality and other purposes. They are NOT PCs, this is true, but not everyone wants or needs just a PC. In the construction industry for instance, especially in Building Information Modeling, we are finding these things increasingly useful.
Load up Autocad WS, and you can walk around your model on site, even before it is built. With Autodesk Design Review, you can show anyone, on site or otherwise, the finished building, associated information included... as they are often directly exported from Revit and uploaded to the Autodesk Cloud system, where it can be shared easily and wordlessly between you and your coworkers and subcontractors. Granted, there is still work for Autodesk to do before it is taken really seriously in our industry, it is getting there. We will never do our actual work on the tablet, but the tablet form factor will help us do our work - as any tool ultimately does.
Think of the tablet as the Star Trek Tri-corder. A small multi-function computer that can be programmed to perform in specific tasks where it is best suited. Real work was never done on the Tri-corder, but the Tri-corder was there to help people do their work.
One can imagine that the 'dust' between us and the center of the Milky Way (as well as the arms of all other galaxies) is in fact made up of hundreds of millions of billions of planets.
When there was the idea that sites such as Drop Box could come in danger of an Federal crackdown after the fall of Megaupload, I realized even that wouldn't even be enough. If the idea is to ban file sharing, then you can't have an Internet. I have my own hosting and website - hosting is cheap, and I use it not just for my website but for sharing files with others - what are they going to do, ban that too? Who gets to use whats left of the internet? Paramount?
It doesn't look like that's going to happen now anyway. So for that I'm relieved. We did good work stopping SOPA, so anything like it probably wouldn't last long either.

You must use Chrome.

Does voting even matter at this point?
If you're broke like me, you're still living in the golden age.
"go ahead. It's your body."
Nope. The government disagrees with that.

True! Office Depots computer selection is pretty decent - better than Walmart, maybe not as good as BB but at least they don't carry much garbage.

Interesting... you advocate mob rule to avoid angry mobs.

You can unplug things all you want, but if you can't take out the battery is it really ever off?

I admit, I couldn't compile a version of 3DStudio Max 2012, Revit, and Photoshop CS5 for Linux.
