    I still remember that, in my early days as a Linux user (circa 2000), I had a relatively decent machine. I was using Red Hat 6.2 with XFree86 and Window Maker at the time. Netscape was indeed slow, so I clocked it to see how long it takes to start (display the home page): 51 fucking seconds.

    Well, it's really not that hard to find. You can start by checking these freaks on Wikipedia: Renee Descartes, Blaise Pascal, Thomas Aquinas, Henri Bergson, C.S. Lewis, G.K. Chesterton, etc.

    I see KDE as a very good, highly configurable and modern desktop environment but still wonder why it is not yet the desktop environment of choice for the "major" distros. Why? I think one of the top reasons is that some distros appreciate that Gnome has a stable release cycle. As I understand, KDE will follow this model as well (releasing a stable version regularly) so hopefully more distros will include it by default. We'll wait and see.

    and then you take the 640, divide by 2, get 320, remove the last 0, and get 32, the reverse of 23. Then you multiply 23 by 30, get 690, take 42, reverse it to 24 and subtruct this from 690. You get 666. Oh, come on. It's not 666. It's obviously 100000. Try again in Excel 2007 if you don't believe me.

    Actually, they intend to get the Amiga system sounds from Chinese Democracy, the long-awaited Guns n' Roses new album. Axl said it will be released only when he feels it's better than everything GNR did before. "It won't take long, really", said Axl Rose in an interview back in 1997. So keep your faith folks.

    I use basket for note taking. It has more features than tomboy, it's snappier, but it's a KDE app and it doesn't fit that nicely in a Gnome session..

    Maybe this is a FAQ, but could someone point us why most game developers prefer DirectX, even if, by choosing OpenGL, they'd have the possibility to develop games for other operating systems as well? Yeah, I know, Windows has over 90% of the desktop market, but why don't develop for the whole market if something like OpenGL exist?
