Awesome... so now we're not only picking what systems people use by how they look, you're also assuming you're helping linux (in what way I don't know) by paying tax to a government (which is probably most!) that wouldn't care two hoots about linux.
You obviously don't think things through properly. Your tax dollars don't support *any* OS... I don't see the Government giving handouts or tax cuts to linux developers - then how can they be supporting or helping linux at all?
Since they can't make it safe they don't fly but they keep spending money just as they were and waste time and money on the ground like this.
Yeah, because it's so much better to send people on long space missions with snack packs and museli bars as their only source of food.
The trip will be that long, that they're going to need to replenish their food supplies somehow - or else they'll be taking two craft, one for the people, one for the food.
I know, great isn't it! and there's even a windows version now! It's awesome that I can actually do what I want with media that I pay for, even when it comes in a DRM'ed pile of crap.
It's interesting - I have a Grandstream Budgetone VoIP phone, and whenever the CAT5 cable is plugged in, I get a lot of RF noise covering 118Mhz -> 155Mhz.
I'm a few Km away from the international airport, but it's *very* hard to hear the tower from my location due to the full scale noise coming from the phone.
I have talked to Grandstream, and they have agreed to replace the VoIP phone, however I'm wondering if it's a global problem, or an issue with the unit I have.
you forget one thing, it's probably not illegal for a malaysian company to make it.
US law doesn't dictate to the rest of the world.

One word: Cost.
While energy efficient products still cost more, there will be less people using them. I can buy a 100w light globe for 50c (AUD), yet an energy saver one will cost me $12.
I agree... I associated my key with Steam a few years back. I havent' played CS for *ages* and I load it up to have some fun. It seems to not like my key. Interesting... I check out my support options, and I get:
If everything else has failed, your last option is to mail in your CD key and have us reset it. This is a slow and potentially expensive process, and we don't recommend that you do this except as a last resort.
Please note that when we reset your CD key, we'll remove it from the account that has currently registered it. In addition, please note that we are unable to reset CD keys that have been banned by VAC.
To have us reset your CD key, please mail us the following (by postal mail, not email): - The original printed CD key (ie, just the jewel case or cardboard sleeve with the CD key printed on it, not the whole package, and not the CD itself) - Your email address - The Steam account you want the CD key assigned to

SAY WHAT?!? no way in hell am I sending the case all the way to the US to try to play a game that I purchased a number of years ago.
Let me guess, in your world, we should also pray that Bush is re-elected so the rest of the world can go down the toilet as well?
But does SP2 take out the trash as well?

Ok, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a Service Pack supposed to add security fixes, and patches to operate more 'as expected'...
Yes, you can do something convoluted to get something to misbehave (save the file, open up a command prompt, run the file) etc, but seriously, if a normal user does this, then they are beyond help that we can expect an OS to provide.
Remember, you can get *ROOT* access to linux by rebooting and adding 'single' to the boot line. Does this mean that it should be fixed in the next kernel/distro?
You can only do so much to protect the user. If you go out of your way to bypass security measures, then the OS should not be expected to protect you.
funny enough, I'm sitting here at an XP laptop with mozilla open (about 6 tabs), Outlook Express, Trillian, and McAfee AV running and only using 162Mb RAM.
With no tweaking at all, the system uses ~121Mb of RAM after booting. After tweaking for slow/low RAM systems, this can easily be reduced to 51Mb.
For most situations, 256Mb RAM is ok - of course if you want games etc that take 160Mb+ RAM by themselves, then you'll need more to keep performance up.
Nuff said. I have one sitting under the seat in my car. 7" touchscreen in the dash, GPS and navigation software. All in a mini-case and runs off the 13.8v straight from the car battery.
Yes, that looks geeky, but touchscreen works better:)
Complimentary my backside! ever tried to use 802.11b/g and bluetooth together? See how complimentary they are... Having to use bluetooth *OR* wifi isn't very complimentary...
Yeah - and we all know it's great when you try to co-exist 2.4Ghz WiFi with bluetooth. As Bluetooth uses the entire available 2.4Ghz spectrum, no matter what channel you're on, there's nowhere to hide.
As WiFi does the right thing and holds off when it detects some kind of signal on the air, bluetooth walks all over 2.4Ghz wifi:|
And everyone laughed at me when I put 2GB of RAM in my computer, allocated 1GB as a RAM disk, and pulled the harddrive out. None of those security issues here!
WAIT! I can't play a game yet! When the power went out, I lost my whole system!
Yeah, but it's really got to suck knowing that there's only a 51% chance of someone actually liking you :)
United States? More like Divided States.

Well, not all.... A lot of the stuff they use is a telnet session to a server.
The server then does all the processing, and prints to remote queues which pop out at the right office (usually).
Quite nifty really - they could probably just use thin clients and get away with it...

Just like there's never going to be a need for more than 512Kb of RAM...
:)

That is why they're not used all over the place.
I think you'll find that it's only people in the US that spell those words as you say.
Damn Yanks have to be different.

Or what we call, a 'clit stick' - cos we all know what it is, we all know where it is, but I'll be buggered if we can actually use it properly.

Lilliput 7" LCD touchscreen. It does up to 1024x768 (readable, but DAMN it's small), and is powered directly of auto power :)
The touchscreen acts as a USB mouse.
Mini ITX.
