    I can't see any reason why radar wouldn't work in space....

    All a radar uses is high-powered radio waves that bounce off an object, and is detected again by a receiver... This wouldn't fail just because of a lack of gravity and/or atmosphere - as radio waves still work in space...

    Or is there something else?

    If I made a product that I put effort and thought into, and I could charge $100 for each, is it lawful if someone in another nation can steal my work and produce straight copies for $10 each, thereby bypassing the entire R&D costs, of which I'm stuck paying for myself as well as freeloaders?

    I think you've just described half of chinas 'tech' companies... There's a reason why things coming out of china is soooo damn cheap.

    Not only were they modding the consoles, but they were selling them with pirated games already installed for $500 a pop.

    If that's not blatant piracy deserving of jail time then I don't know what is. Whine all you want about your right to do what you want with your own hardware, but these guys were begging to get busted.


    This is of course *assuming* that the games they installed didn't come with the Xbox - ie they also got the disks and packaging etc, but also the game installed on the Xbox...

    Hence why I have vowed never to buy another Valve game again. Sure, I've got HL2, and the patch, but after getting screwed by Steam with HL1, there's no way in hell I'll be paying for HL2.

    Yeah - and on the same note, I *still* am unable to play CS beause by HL key has been registered by some one else.

    I have all the legit CD, box, case etc - and the only way I can get them to 'make it right' is to send $10 + CD + CD Case to Valve in the US...

    Granted, not too bad if you live in the US - but for me in Australia, it's a case of ~$17 + shipping + delay for the package to get to the US - if it makes it at all.

    Even if I send this, what do I install from? Make a "backup" copy before I send it?

    Steam is a fucking joke, and should be recognised as such.

    What scares me most, is that in Washington DC, Bush only got 9% of the vote. Kerry got 90%, and Nader 1%.

    Now it's interesting that where Bush will be spending most of his time (if he doesn't take off on "holiday" again), there's only a 1 in 10 chance that a random person off the street will support him.
