I can't see any reason why radar wouldn't work in space....
All a radar uses is high-powered radio waves that bounce off an object, and is detected again by a receiver... This wouldn't fail just because of a lack of gravity and/or atmosphere - as radio waves still work in space...
If I made a product that I put effort and thought into, and I could charge $100 for each, is it lawful if someone in another nation can steal my work and produce straight copies for $10 each, thereby bypassing the entire R&D costs, of which I'm stuck paying for myself as well as freeloaders?
I think you've just described half of chinas 'tech' companies... There's a reason why things coming out of china is soooo damn cheap.
Not only were they modding the consoles, but they were selling them with pirated games already installed for $500 a pop.
If that's not blatant piracy deserving of jail time then I don't know what is. Whine all you want about your right to do what you want with your own hardware, but these guys were begging to get busted.
This is of course *assuming* that the games they installed didn't come with the Xbox - ie they also got the disks and packaging etc, but also the game installed on the Xbox...
With Microsoft's deep pockets, can they effectively send a resounding message to spammers?
Yeah... Don't spam XXX material... just the regular garbage... Anyone who thinks this is going to make much difference, is either nieve or stupid - possibly both.
Hmmm - last time I checked it doesn't say anything in the linux kernel docs about it being depreciated - nor in anything accessable doing a 'make menuconfig'...
Hence why I have vowed never to buy another Valve game again. Sure, I've got HL2, and the patch, but after getting screwed by Steam with HL1, there's no way in hell I'll be paying for HL2.
Yeah - and on the same note, I *still* am unable to play CS beause by HL key has been registered by some one else.
I have all the legit CD, box, case etc - and the only way I can get them to 'make it right' is to send $10 + CD + CD Case to Valve in the US...
Granted, not too bad if you live in the US - but for me in Australia, it's a case of ~$17 + shipping + delay for the package to get to the US - if it makes it at all.
Even if I send this, what do I install from? Make a "backup" copy before I send it?
Steam is a fucking joke, and should be recognised as such.
Grow up, kiddies. You lose sometimes. Now is a chance to rebuild and refocus. Start a war and I'll be first in line to stop you with all necessary force.
Hmmm - kind of like what the rest of the world would have liked to have done about Iraq?
What scares me most, is that in Washington DC, Bush only got 9% of the vote. Kerry got 90%, and Nader 1%.
Now it's interesting that where Bush will be spending most of his time (if he doesn't take off on "holiday" again), there's only a 1 in 10 chance that a random person off the street will support him.
wait.... MORE THAN $40 MILLION dollars for a damn fuel tank? wonder how much budget stuffing is in that...
:|
Then again, I guess that gold plated hardened pop rivets are damn expensive
I wish I could mod this "+/-1, WTF?"
ARGH! 4Gb, 5Gb... whatever... just call it a figure used for conveniance like HDD manufacturers do...
:P
I think I needed another pinky to get it right
From TFA: The H10 is capable of storing five gigabytes of music files, compared with the Mini's four-gigabyte hard disk.
Do people actually read these articles before posting?
a whole whopping 5Mb of space? wow. I'll go insane listening to the badger badger badger sound track on it!

Or is there something else?

Don't know about you, but I'm already 0wn3d by my computer - every time it crashes or needs a reinstall....

what do you call the first feedback comment on Slashdot ?
A troll.

Wonder if these will still be $10+.....
Does that make it a Zerg-rush?
I'd never heard of Vanglis before P2P came along, now I own his entire back catalog.
You misspelled '0wn'.
Microsoft see this challenge head to head with the release of their new suspense-thriller "Installing XP SP2".
It's an exciting time folks.
SMBFS is deprecated
Hmmm - last time I checked it doesn't say anything in the linux kernel docs about it being depreciated - nor in anything accessable doing a 'make menuconfig'...
Maybe it would help if it stated this....
It should be clarified, that this is NOT to do with the smbd process aka Samba Project - but the kernel module smbfs.o
I think that you're forgetting one major thing here... the cracked version *does not connect to steam*.... or so I've heard... :)
Hence why I have vowed never to buy another Valve game again. Sure, I've got HL2, and the patch, but after getting screwed by Steam with HL1, there's no way in hell I'll be paying for HL2.
oh, and the game:

Nobody should think that in todays world, copy protection actually works...
What is needed is more motivation to buy the original - not to spend time making it harder for legit users.

nuff said.

Nice.
Yeah, especially since they're probably paying about 75% or more in taxes.
Awesome - I'd love to see where you pulled this figure from... Maybe the same place Bush got his reasons to invate Iraq?
